[history]
The Senate rejected an attempt to limit greenhouse-gas emissions yesterday in the first vote Congress has ever taken on major climate-change legislation.
The bill was sponsored by Sen. John McCain, Arizona Republican, and Sen. Joe Lieberman, Connecticut Democrat, and proposed cutting U.S. greenhouse-gas emissions to 2000 levels by the end of this decade.

McPain needs to be challenged in the primaries. That way Arizona can be represented by two Republican Senators.

the first vote Congress has ever taken on major climate-change legislation. EHHHHHHHHHHH!! Wrong Hans.
In 1998 the Senate passed a resolution against the terms of the Kyoto Treay 95-0. The Clinton administration signed it anyway but never bothered to send it to the Senate for ratification.

I have to agree with the democrats on this one. I did my own experiment. I left my truck running in the garage. I placed a bowl of ice on the work bench. I closed the garage door. One hour later, the ice had melted and my two cats were dead.

Let's see - we need judicial nominees confirmed, President Bush's present tax cuts made permanent, the rest of President Bush's additional tax cuts passed that the Republicans trashed, the estate tax repeal made complete and permanent, government waste eliminated, and the elimination of unConstitutional socialist programs the Federal Government has no business even being involved in.
And they are working on this crap.

According to some scientists, human activity has pumped greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide from fossil fuels such as oil and coal, into the atmosphere. Those gases theoretically trap heat inside the atmosphere, threatening catastrophes such as worldwide floods from the melting of the polar ice caps.Theory that is taught as undeniable truth in your public schools.
I wonder if these fires in California are in any way contributing to "greenhouse gases?"
What policies are responsible for these fires and who is accountable for those policies?
