You are correct An American. If that affair indeed was not fact, Amber's father would have been right out there denying it.
We still don't know who the father of Amber's child is either.

Hummmm! Amber thought nothing of calling this man's home.

Canadian, It could be the Roche's have been friendly with Amber just to learn all that she knows.
Also I wouldn't put it past her to have lied about calling Scott's home .

It's my recollection, FWIW, that Amber did not make that denial herself. She called her daddy up at 5:30 a.m. because she hadn't been able to sleep. He made denials for her--one being the denial that "she never spoke to Laci". I don't think the denial was that she never called the Peterson home (left a message), or that she never called the home and spoke to Scott. If Daddy Frye did make a further public denial, it would NOT be Amber who actually did the talking. Maybe someone else has another recollection. I say we still need to see the phone records!!!
