What's left of the noble tradition of assertive liberal internationalism in the Democratic party is now gangrenous. The rot has gotten so bad that even some principled Democrats are amputating themselves from their own party. Retiring Democratic Senator Zell Miller announced on Thursday that he will endorse President Bush for re-election.
"This does not mean I am going to become a Republican," Miller said in a written statement. "It simply means that in the year 2004, this Democrat will vote for George Bush."
Miller's decision was prompted in part by his disgust with the Democratic presidential field. "It makes me ashamed. It's a disgrace for anyone to talk about - talk like that in a time of war," he told Fox News' Sean Hannity. "Using this war for political advantage can only give hope to our enemies. And when you do that, that's going to cost lives."

"The Demcratic Party will soon be a social club."
In this season of zombies, ghouls, vampires, mis-shapen monsters and the undead, it would be unwise to make such pronouncements.
The only sure cure for the RAT people is ventilating them with silver bullets and wooden stakes, stuffing their carcasses with garlic, total immersion in an olympic-sized pool of holy water all done under the glare of noon-day sun. I wouldn't hurt to find their crypts under the capital rotunda and flip in a crucifix or two for the one's you might miss.
These critters are just plain bad and hard to kill.

These critters are just plain bad and hard to kill. never hit a RAT when its down, stomp or kick it instead, (much easier that way). When you think its dead, body-slam it for half an hour just to be sure

Yankees, they won, they have no understanding of the south and what that second war for independence means to a southerner aware of their history.
Old wounds heal slow, to many in the south the second war for independence is not history, it is now, and that war is still a raw, open festering sore.
Some southerners can never join the republican party, but they will sure as hell vote republican, so long as they remain conservative.
