It is a tragedy that our $inators didn't move on this bill last year after GW presented it in Medford and Portland.
Of course then who really cared that Oregon burned for months. There was minimal national tv coverage versus the coverage the LA/Riverside/San Diego Fires got.
I have had more comments on my old bumper sticker re blaming the envirals for the fires of 2002. One guy who has seen it for over a year, said last week, now I finally understand what your bumper sticker really means.

Boxer and Feinstein...what a bunch of duplicitous hypocrites. Always reacting, never doing any proactive. I've got my letter to the editor fired up and on its way.
BTW, can anyone tell me just when this initative was first proposed? I know I can look it up but was curious if anyone knew off the top of their head. I'm pretty sure it was over a year ago, yes?

"Wonder who the 14 were that voted against it?"Probably the same 14 nitwits who:
Consider a chpped down tree to a be "bad for Karma"; insist on driving around in electric cars w/AC, and 8-speaker Bose stereo sound system; are relieved a human rather than laboratory rat die from untested drugs.

In California:
Do dead trees cry when the chain bites in?
Does the grass scream when the evil man with the saw that fumes walks to those trees?
Do bears wipe when they crap in the woods?
To: what's up
Kennedy (D-MA)Teddy would have voted yes, but he wanted the trees to be drowned instead of chopped down.
To: azkathy
Al Sharpton, Maxene Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee had no opinion. Apparently, no one axed them.

I think your cartoon hit it on the head. Alot of eco cults were against even this bill, and some, including greenpeace, feel its better for the forest to burn to the ground, then to have trees cut down for profit.
Not every enviornmental group is nuts, some of them supported this bill, because they felt it was common sense, a former founder of greenpeace, is blasting his old group for there resistance to this bill.
These eco groups have gone totally socialist, if somone, somewhere, somehow will make a dollar, then let the whole planet burn.

Thanks for the link, it looks interesting, maybe after the fires in California the enviromentalists will not have such a strong voice...(enviroMENTALists...good one I never saw it like that before )

The recall and the reality of these fires in S. California were too much too ignore.
What happened to Boxer and others is they ran some focus groups after the fires and before they voted. Those focus groups showed that Boxer would dead in the political water if she vote no. She was still screaming no two-three days before the vote.
ChiFi had seen the light/felt the heat and walked away for the no vote and pushed for a yes vote.
The recall of Davis was like a huge 12 inch gun firing a shell across the bow of every politician in America. Even Davis got the message and is going out without battling it in the courts.
None of these congressits and senators have a fall back job if they get booted like Davis did. Particuliarly rat senators in DC with republicans more in control each day.

"It is a tragedy that our $inators didn't move on this bill last year after GW presented it in Medford and Portland."You are so right. Some of this devastation could have been avoided had they listened.
"Of course then who really cared that Oregon burned for months. There was minimal national tv coverage versus the coverage the LA/Riverside/San Diego Fires got."
To be fair, we didn't have as much personal destruction. However, had the media paid attention to the possibilities then, SoCal wouldn't be in the fix they are now.
"I have had more comments on my old bumper sticker re blaming the envirals for the fires of 2002. One guy who has seen it for over a year, said last week, now I finally understand what your bumper sticker really means."
That is awesome, Gramps. That, alone, makes it all worth it.

I have worked with this guy for over 3 years, and he is finally seeing the light re the envirals. He is a hard working conservative and owns his own business. He has had a blind eye and deaf ear when it came to any reality about the envirals.
The next time we get together, I will find out what exactly changed him. A lot of people up here in N. California had relatives or friends or both in harms way in those fires. Reality like that wakes some people up.

"Reality like that wakes some people up."It does, Gramps...indeed, it does.
I would really like to know why he changed. I would appreciate it if you would let me know.
It's really good to see you.
I'm going to rest my weary, tired head, now. ;o)
Good night.

"Sick minds think alike?" High five, bro!
To: Grampa Dave
Yes, yes and yes....you, as usual, are correct, Sir. I say it's time to get rid of 'em all! And I'm thrilled I can be in this state to help!

It's about time.
If there is a silver lining to the CA fires this is it. And the fact that the enviromental kooks have been discredited. Yes!
