Thanks for the ping, annie. I'm with Torie Clarke who asked a shocked Pentagon press corps last March how they couldn't know about these atrocities? They're well documented. The Iraqi people have been trying to tell their stories. The press has been covering this up. Saddam is a WMD. Our war is just. The truth exposes the hypocrisy of our critics. Everyone should know by now what this monster did to the Iraqi people. They should have known before last March. The press has blood on its hands here, as well, imho.

The tape is sickening, just sickening.
It's not just the press who were complicit in this, but also the "human rights" crowd who tried every trick they could think of to head off the invasion and leave the Saddamites in power.

What about all of the liberal fools and the press, who tried to argue before the war, that even though Hussein was a terrible ruler, this doesn't mean that we had the right to remove him?
Meaning... were they "white washing" his atrocities? Or, were they ignorant of them?
I find their lack of compassion for the people of Iraq stunning.

I've seen part (couldn't watch some) of the tapes. Brett Baier's accompanying descriptions suffice in conveying the portrayal of Saddam's brutal regime. These tapes are probably not the worst that will surface.

CNN showed the tape. I don't know their reporters, Aaron Brown is the anchor. The reporter presenting the story said the Pentagon declined to release the tapes. They were obtained from military troops in Iraq that had made copies, then let others have them. The anchor stated that the segment to be shown was not the worst of the cruelties documented on the tapes.
!!!Inaccurate Reporting.......Brown just reported the Lt. Col. West story as 'essentially beating up a prisoner'.
