California Gov-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger visited Washington, DC, today. The trip had been planned before the fires, but gained new urgency due to the emergency. He was to meet with the entire California congressional delegation, congressional leaders, committee chairmen and ranking members, have lunch with his uncle-in-law, and meet with Vice President Cheney.
Arriving at the Capitol escorted by Rep. Dave Drier (R-CA).

Check out that ring!

News conference in the Capitol.

Our "governator" sure is a big media draw.

Former President Ronald Reagan is watching over our new "governator." Will modern Hollywood snub Arnold (one of its own) the way they have snubbed President Reagan (also one of its own) all these years?

The Gov-elect with his uncle-in-law after lunching with Ted. Must have enjoyed their lunch, but Arnold shouldn't count on Uncle Ted to help California.

At least Arnold is putting his very lucrative career on hold (putting his money where is mouth is), putting his reputation on the line, and is doing everything he can to help the people of "Caleefornia." Where the heck are all the other Hollywood big mouths now, when donations are needed to help people who've lost everything in these fires? KABC TV and radio, and other businesses were sponsoring a donation drive at the Staples Center today. As I was getting ready for work, one of the KABC TV reporters was at the Staples Center and used his live spot to speak directly to Hollywood, asking for their help. He even said that for celebrities who wanted publicity, this was the perfect chance to get some by going to the Staples Center and have the TV cover them giving a donation. (Calling Arianna, Babs, Martin, etc.)

Enjoyed seeing the pics. He ought to get rid of that ring, it's too conspicuous and not all that tasteful.
It will be interesting to see how much support he gets from the left.

Caption the last pic:
Arnie - "Hey, uhnkel, how ubout ah drive uloong the Potomac? Bring some wimmin?"
Ted - "That's, er ah, not funny, kid."

Is that a mood ring he's wearing?

Good Lord, check out the size of the Swimmer's head. Looks like a beach ball.

He seems to have a smaller version of that ring on his other hand. Looks like turquoise and white gold or platinum. Most of the time rings have some sentimental meaning to their wearer, so it isn't likely he'd get rid of them.

The swimmer does look awful, doesn't he. Pasty white in comparison with the tanned good looks of his nephew-in-law. But then, Ted is over 70 now. Guess his swimmin' days are over.

Arnold's response upon being asked if he could bench press Uncle Teddy.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
Tom, who? That's Rep. David Drier to the Gov-elect's right. He's a close friend of Arnold's and was his most ardent spokesman during the campaign. Drier is one of the most articulate and reliable members of the Republican caucus. He's also Chairman of the powerful House Rules Committee. He took a lot of time out of his own busy schedule over the summer to help his friend win the election. Frankly, until Drier took charge of the PR part of the Schwarzenegger campaign, it was floundering. Dave was a very big part of getting Arnold elected. He's now chairman of the transition team. Don't know the name of the fellow in back of them, but clearly he is an aide.

Thanks for adding this thread to your list. The photos are fun to look at, but there's an extremely important purpose to Arnold's Washington visit.

Hey Ah-nold! The American tax payer better not bail out your liberal gay sympathizing A**. You wanted the job now do it. Get all your fudge packing, knee pad conservative, Log cabin dinwits to open their wallets.
Raise taxes on Cal-ee-for--nee--a. Not the rest of America.

In addition to Speaker Hastert, California Reps. Mary Bono, Dana Rohrabacher and Darrell Issa accompany Arnold in this pic.
By the way, for those who have not heard the news, Dave Drier was on the John and Ken show yesterday and said that Rep. Duncan Hunter's house burned down in the San Diego-area fires.

The Gov-elect meets with Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and...

...with Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA). Maybe Arnold can help a Republican win the next California senate election. (By the way, is that an adoring look Babs is giving the "governator?")

Me too! With that, he stands in a row with Siegfried and Roy! ;-) But then again... he´s the designated Californian Governor - he probably has to do such things. LOL
