Iran said on Wednesday it would not share intelligence with the United States about al-Qaeda members held in Iran despite repeated requests from the American government for it to do so. Why are we even asking it from them? Just take it.

It's difficult to take anything they say at face value, or anything we say at face value, when it comes to Iran.
We don't really know what's happening behind the scenes.
This may just be for public consumption.
