"It's headed straight for us like a freight train," said John Kohl, a solar astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Mass. "This is the real thing."
Predictions are it could strike Earth's magnetic field by midday Wednesday.

Predictions are it could strike Earth's magnetic field by midday Wednesday. Howard Dean says this wouldn't happen under a Dean administration. It's all a part of Bush's weak foreign policy... < /sarcasm>

This isn't related to any sun activity, but to AOL stupidity. I live in Central New York and have Road Runner as my ISP. AOL has decided to block all emails from residential Road Runner accounts. I contacted Time-Warner regarding this, and they say they are working with AOL to resolve the problem, but so far it's been 24 hours. Every email I send to an AOL address is returned undeliverable. Since I sell on eBay, it can be pretty frustrating. Is anyone else in the country having this same problem? You'd think that since Time-Warner owns AOL, this type of problem wouldn't occur, but then that would be making sense, and most of us who at one time had an AOL account, know that AOL doesn't know a thing about making sense.

...Is anyone else in the country having this same problem?... Yes. And what's even more curious is that at the same time I'm having problems with AOL and Road Runner emails I've developed a severe case of toenail fungus.

AOL has decided to block all emails from residential Road Runner accounts. Every email I send to an AOL address is returned undeliverable. Are you sending your email through RoadRunner email servers, or are you running your own outgoing email server?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry about it -- you'll have to wait for RoadRunner to work it out with AOL. AOL has apparently black-listed at least some of RoadRunner's email servers, probably due to spam from another user.
If you do understand what I mean, you should know that AOL recently started blocking email sent directly from residential DSL, cable, and dial-up IP addresses. It's not an effective strategy, but that's AOL for you.

This is exactly what has occurred. No it's not a very effective strategy, seeing that AOL & Road Runner are owned by the same parent company...Time Warner. Why anyone still does business with AOL is beyond me. Their service has been bad for years.

Oh, VHF too! Two Meters was open Saturday night, and Six was fantastic for the Fall Sprint contesting.

This may be a good place to ask.
What is is that travels from the sun and takes 8 to 12 hours to reach the earth and cause disruptions, knock out satellites, etc?
There is a dearth of information about the phenomenon, other than it follows sunspots, prominences, coronal discharges, whatever...

Muttly has not left immediate proximity of his Official Muttly Tinfoil-Reinforced Pup Tent since last week...which is easy, since it is right here in the Official Muttly Compound (back yard).
Because I see the The Evil Bert has insinuated himself into your screen-name...perhaps advisable to add several more layers of premium tinfoil to your Colander helmet...and consider a Tinfoil enema too, just as a pergative. You could be attracting Transmissions from the Mothership, and pose a risk to your loved-ones in these perilous times.
Also suggest my highly effective system of passing your computer cables through an aquarium filled with Heavy Water and Ovaltine, just to further screen out any harmful signals from Kevin...even if he does change the frequency.
Works for me. Best of luck. May the Schwartz be with you.

screen out any harmful signals from Kevin Shoot, I had mine set up to screen out Kenneth's frequency and how I have to worry about Kevin too.
To: razorback-bert
You are right. That was a test. Muttly needed to know how much to reveal to you.
Y' can't be too careful these days. Greetings Brother !
(you may want to add a little Tang with that Ovaltine. They hate that)
