I don't really see this as a conservative cause, but it is being portrayed that way and I guess the main supporters are conservatives.

The fact is this case stinks to high heaven.

MS has lied to the courts over and over again and Judge Greer continues to look the other way. In the beginning the husband had a very large monetary reason to refuse rehabilitation for Terri and then to "remember" years later that it is Terri's wishes to be removed from her feeding tube and not given water. He should have been removed as her guardian years ago when he did not fulfill the requirements for a guardian set by the staten. Now, according to the husband, after paying his attorneys most of Terri's money, there is only $50,000 left (which isn't chicken feed). He must be continuing his campaign to kill Terri for spite or maybe as some here speculate he and Felos are in a collaborative effort on a book about Terri.

I would like to see more pressure put on this judge. He has been very bias throughout the years towards the husband and against Terri's parents. Maybe the pressure could come through his Church? Does anyone know the name of it or the email address? I heard they are supporting the parents. I would like to see what they have to say about the matter.

Nor do I, but people are dividing up along party lines. You should read some of the posts on usenet rather than just read here (even here there are more negative voices than you might expect). It's an uphill battle for Terri. I think even those loving parents are prepared to let her go if they can just have her back to love and comfort her and obtain justice and humane treatment for her.

The fact is this case stinks to high heaven.

It does to me, too. My heart goes out to the Schindlers. What a hell on earth for them to have their daughter in the clutches of someone who seems to want to be rid of the burden no matter what it takes.

He should have been removed as her guardian years ago when he did not fulfill the requirements for a guardian set by the staten

I simply do not understand how he has been allowed by the court to remain her guardian because of the glaring conflicts of interest. All that talk about loving her is just a smokescreen for his true motives imo. If he has attempted, as has been alleged, to withhold medical treatment from her, that is criminal neglect imo. Same goes for all parties to same.

I would like to see more pressure put on this judge.

I refrain from judging him on the sole basis that he hasn't done what I would want, but I seriously question that he has ruled in an unbiassed manner. I don't know where some of these judges are coming from any more. There are so many laws on the books, they seem to be just shopping for the ones that fit their agenda and disregard the rest.

Maybe the pressure could come through his Church? Does anyone know the name of it or the email address? I heard they are supporting the parents. I would like to see what they have to say about the matter.

Terri's parents are catholic and she and Michael were probably married in a catholic church. However, I did read somewhere that he was raised Lutheran, and have no idea what his current status is. Maybe he converted; we don't know.

Because of the horror of the sex abuse scandals, the church seems to be lying (laying?) low. The catholics in America are unpredictable and seem to split along "party" lines on the various issues, so I don't see them coming out in a solid block of power on Terri's and her family's behalf. Catholic teachings are more for life than any other religion I know.

There are a few catholics who are speaking out, but not enough. What happens here is going to affect us, our children, and our childrens' children and should be a wakeup call for everyone. Kudos to that priest, Father Rob Johansen who has gone to the vigil site from Michigan and kudos to his superior who gave permission for him to leave his regular duties to help in Terri's cause. Kudos to that old priest who did his best and has been under horrible stress for a man his age.

I hope we will hear more from the church. If all the catholics got on board and presented a united front, it could make a tremendous difference. Also, I'm deeply grateful to all those protestants and all others who are fighting for Terri. The ones who seem to be coming down against Terri seem not to have any guiding religious beliefs that have any transcendent values.

What is really ugly about some of this is that I suspect many have done the same thing to their own relatives and can't stand the light of moral scrutiny and introspection concerning their own actions. They look at this and wouldn't want to be burdened by a loved one who is of no use to them any more, and they respond accordingly. Love quickly waxes cold when things get inconvenient.

Perhaps he's afraid if he divorces her, he'll face many years of alimony to pay for her support....just better to be rid of her.
