This thread will serve as a place for posting all new information and links regarding Terri's case, information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information and prayers. I will update the thread daily during the week and on Friday nights for the weekends for as long as we need to.

Thanks to "iowamomforfreedom" for helping collect all the threads. There are doubtless some missing. Please feel free to add. Future threads will have a link back to this one.

Apologies for mistakes, duplicates or posts out of sequence. I did the thread more hurriedly than I would have liked. I have to leave in just a couple of hours, so if there are corrections to be made, just post correction and refer to thread title.

I hope this works out well. Please ping your lists.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gathering and the posting of the information relative to our beloved Terri. I pray, dear Lord, that this will be a valuable resource in our efforts to return this mother's child back into the love and care of her family. Bless each one who researches, posts, distributes, and communicates ... may all of it be bathed in prayer, that it might be pleasing to You. Protect this dear woman until the day of her release, for there is none but You who can do this mighty work. In the Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen ...

SCHIAVO CASE DEMANDS ANSWERS TO BIGGER QUESTIONS

My apologies to (some of) the 'save Terri' posters here (a 'vanity' post)

Maybe we should keep this thread for info only and not chat? When a thread gets too long it's impossible to find updates and correct info.

Chatting is okay because there will be a new thread daily. That's the whole point...that way we can keep a lot of the discussion from being all over the board. Maybe there'll be less trolls this way too.

For those who haven't seen it -- especially those in the medical profession -- let's introduce Terri's bone scan about a year after she "collapsed." There was a routing slip that went with this marked "closed head injury." I apologize for any misspellings -- sometimes it was hard to read, and sometimes, it was just that I missed the last 11 years of med school :-)

I believe this document was not released until about ten years after the scan. Other medical records for Terri still remain sealed at Michael Schiavo's orders. Patricia Anderson, Terri's lawyer (i.e., the Schindlers' lawyer) relates that as soon as she saw this document, she sent it to three physicians for evaluation. All three replied that it suggested trauma, meaning Terri may have been beaten. Other explanations are possible, but exceedingly unlikely for a healthy, 26-year-old woman. Anderson then took the matter to Judge Greer to ask for time to do discovery in the matter. He denied, saying it was all very interesting, but had nothing to do with Terri's present condition (!). (Yoohoo, Judge Greer -- there is only one suspect in the possible beating of Theresa Schiavo: the very person you entrusted as her legal guardian.)

As always, if I have stated any facts wrong, please correct me.

BONE SCAN:
Indication: Evaluate for trauma

Procedure and findings. Multiple gamma camera images of the axial and proximal appendicular skeleton in the anterior and posterior projections were obtained, following 21.1 millicuries of Technetium 99m HDP.

There are an extensive number of focal abnormal areas of nuclide accumulation of intense type. These include multiple bilateral ribs, the costovertebral aspects of several of the thoracic vertebral bodies, the L1 vertebral body, both sacroiliac joints, the distal right femoral diaphysis, both knees, and both ankles, right greater than the left. Correlative radiographs are obtained of the lumbar spine and of the right femur which reveal compression fracture, minor, superior end plate of L1 and shaggy irregular periosteal ossification along the distal femoral diaphysis and metaphysis primarily ventrally.

The patient has a history of trauma, most likely the femoral periosteal reaction reflects a response to a subperiosteal hemorrhage and the activity in L1 correlates perfectly with the compression fracture which is presumably traumatic. The presumption is that the other multiple areas of abnormal activity also relate to previous trauma. Additional possibility would be neoplastic bone disease, widespread disseminated infectious bone disease or multiple bone infarcts from abnormal hemoglobin.

CONCLUSION
Multiple areas of abnormal scintigraphic accumulation some of which are radiograph for differential as discussed above.

My contribution dated 10-24-03. I finally checked my regular email from GOVERNOR JEB BUSH:

While this week was one of triumph for Florida, it highlighted tragedy as well. In response to lingering unanswered questions regarding the Terri Schiavo case, and more than 165,000 people voicing their concern for her condition, the Florida Legislature passed legislation that allowed Mrs. Schiavo's feeding tube to be reinserted.

It was an act of compassion, supported by the conviction that any life and death decision must fully consider all relevant facts and conditions.

I thank the members for their courage in this difficult situation and encourage all Floridians to spare their own families this agony by clearly indicating their wishes in an advance directive or living will.

Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Jeb Bush

Thank you, Governor Bush. FV
