I said beginning on Saturday and I say again tonight, I'm amazed and pissed at the lack of supposed "cable news networks" coverage of this tragedy.
This is witness that the cable news channels are nothing but talking shills for their own political agendas. CNN, MSNBS and FOX are whom I'm talking about!
Thank God for FreeRepublic where news is reported, play by play, by real reporters...citizen reporters, there and on the ground.
I'll get out of the way, now that I have ranted, and let those "on the ground" continue their excellent coverage.
Godspeed and Prayers to all those suffering and in peril.

I totally agree. I just went to watch the Nat'l news, Peter Jennings....10 min didn't give any real details.
Local News.....the only statement about the CA fires was that the American Red Cross (spokesperson on) is having financial difficulty because of it and charitable donations are down.
I'm sending an email.

I live in the Washington Area and without the people of FR Broadcasting this story starting last Friday, the news would have never reach me until Monday when the spinmisters came back to work.
Thanks All

I agree with your post. Seems to me that this is the single most important domestic event of 2003. The talking heads have left Americans hanging, most esp on Sat and Sun. This is a significant failure of NBC,CNN,FOX. My heart is with everyone witnessing this event.
Thank You Free Republic posters for keeping the rest of America up to date.
