Yup, fires going in Mexico right now too. Is that Baja California, or Baja Mexico, if ya know.

I heard the press conf. today with the Mayor of SD and the fire chief. He said there were no fires in SD county when he released to FF to San Bernadino. He talked about a California Shared Resources program (or something like that) which sends resources where they are needed. Once the FF are gone from their home jurisdiction they are under the direction of the State, not county or city. They couldn't get them back - but they were sent other resources from other parts of the state.

There is someone from KFI that is now surrounded by fire on all sides just outside of I believe they said Richardson Ranch in the Simi Valley fire area. I know it started with an R and had a phone call before I had typed it.

I think the Pendleton troops were very busy containing the fire at Camp Pendleton. They had it half contained yesterday. I don't know its status today.

That KOGO guy is Roger Hedgecock. And when he gets pissed, look out.
Earlier today there was a press conference with political officials and they were refuting everything that Roger has been complaining about yesterday and today. But Roger will continue to do this until people understand his point.
He did this a couple of years ago after the Alpine fire and exposed the corruption going on in the Red Cross here.
I want to donate to them but I'm not sure its a good idea.

My attitude is so sh!tty --- The fire in Alpine stretches 16 miles toward Pine Valley, Julian. Pine Valley Road now closed and PV was a "staging area" only a few hours ago.
No way to get Alpine fire under control.

Bet KNBC's vehicle insurance rate just took a little climb.
Update in regards to the western part of the Grand Prix fire:
Currently, it's sitting in the mountains above San Dimas and Glendora, in the area burned by our Curb fire. It's still there, producing smoke which has made the sky here have an eerie grey-yellow shade. However, it's not threatening anything at the moment; it's just lurking.
If the Santa Ana winds come back, we're in deep doo-doo, as the one major canyon which did /not/ get burned in the Curb fire is right below the Grand Prix fire. However, so long as we don't have wind, we don't have fire down here.
There are almost no firefighters deployed up there, except for one team who is just keeping an eye on the fire and making sure it doesn't head southward.
At the moment, the areas of La Verne/San Dimas/Glendora are not in danger, although we're again breathing smoke (this must've been the smoke I started to smell again last night). Yuck. I was so happy to /not/ be smelling smoke yesterday afternoon/early evening, too!

Sorry, don't know. I'm assuming whatever is closest to Forest Falls. The picture I was told about was him flying over......and you could see the smoke coming up from Baja.
They both work for the Forest Service out of Forest Falls??

Thanks for the info. Boy he really is pissed at the 'political' shenanigans going on re this fire. He says that C130's sat on the ground at Point Maboo(sp) on Sat, Sun and Mon. Only today are they flying, because the FEDS are now paying for it.

These media types are nuts! And Fox News Channel has Paul Wolfowitz who I like but the CA fires are more important IMHO!

We had a burn a few years ago here in Arcadia, I think Winter 2000, but it has had enough time to grow back. Hopefully it stays calm before it can decide to jump to Duarte, Monrovia, Arcadia, Pasadena.
To: Conservative4Ever
I figured that was it -- when you start being able to see the fire move, it gives an odd feeling.
