Ramadan 2003: Current Threat Analysis
Northeast Intelligence Network ^ | 10/27/03 | Douglas J. Hagmann

Posted on 10/27/2003 2:01:38 PM PST by Mossad1967

With the onset the Muslim holy season of Ramadan 1424 (2003), we are becoming increasingly concerned and somewhat alarmed at the raw data and intelligence findings we are obtaining from obscure and often hidden Islamic Jihad web sites and communications intercepted in chat rooms used by fundamentalists. Analysts at the Northeast Intelligence Network have noticed a continuing rise in the "pitch and intensity" of calls for Jihad, Fatwas, Clarifications and other religious "rulings" that certainly suggest that plans for a series of attacks are currently in progress. These attacks appear to fall into two major categories: threats to US and western interests and coalitions forces overseas; and threats of a significant attack or series of coordinated attacks within the continental United States. Subcategories of both suggest that these planned attacks will include the use of unconventional weapons- possibly nuclear, chemical or biological; the use of computer technology to disable key areas of our infrastructure, causing power blackouts and economic losses; and the use of conventional bombs and even homicide bombers in the US.

The operatives belong to groups including but not limited to such well known terrorist organizations as al Qaeda, HAMAS, Ansar al-Islam, The Salfist Group for Preaching & Combat (GSPC), Black September, as well as a number of other forces that are beginning to work together in their effort to destroy the west. We have been watching as some terrorist organizations have split into factions, and others have teamed together in a perfect display of the adage "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

It is important for readers to understand that these terrorists do not operate with the same mindset as we do in what is known as "western culture." They are completely committed to destroy us in any and all manners possible. All people in the United States and western societies are targets regardless of age, sex, or race.

A major fire burning closer to Los Angeles is believed to have been started by arsonists.

"Those who start these fires are no better than domestic terrorists and should be dealt with as such," said Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley.

The arsonists "have no idea how many lives they've ruined," said Trisha Mitchell, standing amid the debris that was once her childhood home in San Bernardino.

Of course they do.
Like the Donald Sutherland psycho in Backdraft,
they want to "burn the world!"

The FBI alerted law enforcement agencies last month that an Al Qaeda terrorist now in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States.

"We promise that we will not let you live safely, and you'll not see from us anything else just bombs, fire, destroying homes, cutting your heads. Our mujahideen is coming to you very soon to let you see what you didn't see before."

"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." (Revelation 19:11-16)

My God is an awesome God. He reigns in Heaven and earth. With wisdom, power and love, My God is an awesome God.

If we had 100,000 Turkish troops working with ours around Baghdad, we probably would have caught Sadamn by now.

Yes. And it's really too bad that Turkey, a supposed Nato "ally", screwed us before the war started. It's also too bad that the Turks cannot be trusted in Iraq, due to their policies against the Kurds.

Yes, they can do us a lot of harm by usual tactics, such as setting fires. But they are weak in ways they are too stupid to comprehend, as they will find out if they hurt us.

I think you needed to pay attention to the history before this war. The State Department would not send Powell to negotiate until it was too late. The Turks wanted economic and security assurances. Of course the Clinton crony in Turky insured that there would be no agreement so W would have problems. For every body bag shipped back here, they should be stamped "Courtesy of the DNC and Terry McAuliffe".

These attacks appear to fall into two major categories: threats to US and western interests and coalitions forces overseas; and threats of a significant attack or series of coordinated attacks within the continental United States.

Well, that certainly narrows it down! What a crock of sh_t. There will be an attack here in the USA or overseas. This reminds me of the "InfoGraphic" on TheOnion.com after 9/11 where the red areas showed where the perps could be (all the continents were red).

Again, great specificity here. The attack will be with WMDs ... or maybe computer hackers ... or maybe regular explosives. What's funny is that at the bottom of the NINcom-poop website they have this bitmap: . It ain't dirt that the site is shoveling.

U.S. Postal Stamp Issued in Observance of Eid

By William B. Reinckens, Washington File Correspondent

U.S. Postal Stamp issued in observance of Eid

Washington -- Most U.S. postal stamps bear the pictures of late presidents, statesmen, sports figures, wildlife scenes, inventors and one even bears the word, LOVE. In Washington, on November 13, a beautifully simple stamp done in calligraphy recognizes Eid, celebrated by millions of Muslim Americans annually.

In announcing the "Eid Mubarak" stamp, the U.S. Postal Service noted that the 33-cent stamp commemorates the two most important festivals or eids in the Islamic calendar. Eid al-Adha marks the end of the hajj, the annual period designated for Muslims to make their pilgrimage to Mecca. Eid al-Fitr celebrates the end of the Ramadan fast.

The stamp, which is gracefully executed in gold against a blue background, is reminiscent of many great works of Islamic calligraphy.

Designed by calligrapher Mohamed Zakariya, the Eid stamp features the Arabic phrase "Eid mubarak" which translates as "blessed festival," and can be paraphrased, "May your religious holiday be blessed."

This year, the U.S. Postal Service honored three U.S. holidays with stamps -- Eid, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

"U.S. postage stamps are a reflection of the American experience," said Postmaster General William Henderson, and "inspiring subjects and designs continue to bring history to life."

In November 1999, Representatives Dana Rohrabacher, California, and Thomas M. Davis, Virginia, introduced legislation that a U.S. postage stamp should be issued recognizing the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The resolution noted that there are more than "five million practicing Muslims in the United States, who represent one of the fastest growing segments of American society."

The proposed legislation noted that "those who follow the Islamic faith are a diverse community comprised of all races, colors, and political opinions, who make important and valuable contributions to American society and culture."

The lawmakers noted that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are the three monotheistic religions of the world and that Jewish and Christian holidays have been recognized on U.S. postage stamps but "no Islamic observance is similarly commemorated."

>> It's also too bad that the Turks cannot be trusted in Iraq, due to their policies against the Kurds.

You don't seem to know that we Turks were in partnership with the US and Britain in protecting the Kurds of Iraq. Were you aware that the Iraqi Kurdish leaders Barzani and Talabani were only able to travel abroad thanks to the Turkish diplomatic passports they were granted? Or that the cease fire and subsequent peace between their groups the PUK and KDP were brokered by the aforementioned three in Turkey?

>> And it's really too bad that Turkey, a supposed Nato "ally", screwed us before the war started.

So why would we help you when you are so ignorant of us and treat us with contempt until you need our assistance?

Were you aware that your congress blocked weapons sales to Turkey during the height of her war on terror in the 90s? Were you aware that we are the single most affected economy after that of Iraq from the sanctions and that it was your congress which renegged on Bush 1's promises of economic assistance to take the edge off? Was it not your lack of political will which caused you to cut and run after GW1 and leave all those weapons in terrorist hands to be used against Turkey for a decade? Do not your congress represent the will of you? How dare you direct your indignant remarks towards us??

For three months, NEIN has been warning that Ramadan is going to be a hot zone of terrorist activity. They've been screaming from the rooftops that jihadist sites are repeatedly referring to Ramadan as a time of terror. Several months ago, NEIN warned that terrorists were interested in using fire, several months before the FBI admitted it had its own intelligence on the possibility.

The Baghdad bombings have all the marks of foreign terrorists and were clearly planned to coincide with the start of Ramadan. This isn't an accident.

They may not be "right" all of the time, but given that much of this flow of intelligence is being picked off the Internet, it's more than possible these "sources" are aware they are being uncovered and changing plans. The point is, no one knows, but I prefer to have an organization that attempts to warn the public and "gets it wrong", over an organization that says (does) nothing and has nothing but a couple of destroyed skyscrapers to show for it...
