The real reason behind 'Bush-hatred', 'Rush-hatred' and 'Ahnold-hatred' amongst the left. They've lost their monopoly. Unfortunately it came too late. They've won the war. Our country has been fully subsumed into the Marxist cesspool with no obvious path back to sanity.
The Left has secured the support of the majority of the public through their appropriation of the wealth of those on the Right and its redistribution to those who have willingly sold their votes.
Those who have taken the money from the Left will never give it up. They will vote enmass for the Left to insure the continuance of their cash flow. They will violently resist any efforts to terminate their immoral pilfering of other people's pockets.
We have gone beyond the point of no return. American no longer exists. In its place we have a Soviet Union Lite.

I agree with what you say.
I just hope that one day, you and I are proven wrong.

"We have gone beyond the point of no return. American no longer exists."
Sometimes I agree with you (when something particularly obnoxious happens), but I think you're giving up much too quickly. We -just- broke the monopoly of the Left. Our views are getting a fair hearing for the first time, and a LOT of people are being convinced. The words "black conservative" are no longer just an oxymoron. Individual dignity is making a comeback. We've actually routed the Dems in the last few elections.
Actually, I believe that 2004 may very well yield a filibuster-proof Republican majority. THEN watch the liberal house of cards implode.
It's waaaayyyy too early to give up. Just imagine how utterly the Left will be humiliated if Bush succeeds in what he's doing in Iraq. Of course, they'll never admit they were wrong, but now, finally, there will be dozens of news outlets that will point it out for them.
Have some faith, man. Things are getting better. When you ponder if we're "past the point of no return", don't look at where we -are-, look at the direction things are headed. Right now, they're headed toward the right in most ways. I know it can be tempting to believe that it won't swing nearly far enough back, but in my optimistic moments I have to admit that there's no real basis to believe that it can't.

Hoping that you're wrong...but not betting on it.
Cheers.

We have gone beyond the point of no return. American no longer exists. In its place we have a Soviet Union Lite. Nope, America will be fine and the future is looking good. We just have to wait another ~20 years until the worst generation in American History the baby boomers age and gets the hell out of power and/or dies off. Though it will probably take another 20 years after that to fix the mess they will leave behind.

It would be easy to give up now but I believe that things can change for the better. It's not the steady, meteoric, incredibly fast progress that counts, but just the kind that it took to get things so out of whack in the first place: 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. As long as we keep that up we will eventually win. It will take a while and there will be some setbacks along the way but we have to keep moving forward no matter what, because we should leave a valuable legacy of freedom free enterprise to our children and their children.
