Modesto has had it's share of notoriety lately, but they have a wonderful mall! When I stop by there, I try not to think about all of the dark characters who might be lurking.

Thanks for the explanation. I figured it must be that the vast majority are bound over for trial or the prosecutors shouldn't have brought charges to begin with.

I have thought of that. When Amber testifies she may not even look at him. You can be sure he will try to stare her down tho. I think Amber will do pretty good. Prosecutors have probably "cross examined" the daylights out of her.

I agree with you that she'll end up being a sympathetic figure. The Rocha's certainly have referred to her as brave and have stated that she's doing the right thing.
Maybe the courtroom artists will capture that response of Scott's when he sees Amber!

Thanks Vel, all is okay with them, thank God. I have been away from the TV, hope these poor people who have suffered this devastation are getting all the help they need...prayers going out to those who lost lives, and homes.
On another note, I found myself getting real excited/anxious that this pre-lim is tomorrow! (finally) I need to catch up on this thread now, I've been having trouble with my server today, last night. Maybe the geo-magnetic storm? Maybe just the fact that AOL SUCKS??

The proceedings start at 9:30 AM tomorrow. I listened to the last hearing via Realtime.
Gloria Gomez was on Crier today, says Amber will testify either Fri or the early part of next week. Nancy Grace thinks that Amber should have not taken the stand till the trial, not be subjected to cross. But talking heads think that the Prosecution needs to put her on to introduce the tapes, will show strong motive.
There was also a heated discussion about the red paint. Gloria took a ride out to bouy#4, and says if they could match up the paint, would be more bad news for the Defense. The paint is not your every day run of the mill Sherwin Williams...it's a specific industrial type paint. The location of that bouy is right where Snott said he was fishing, and fits right into the theory that she was dumped there and the currents delivered Laci and Connor to where they were found.
They also discussed Lee's testimoney, he will say he did not know Snott had puchased a boat, and did not know Snott was going fishing that day. Did anyone???? No, because HE WASN'T STURGEON FISHING!!!!

Thanks for all of the effort you put into finding the articles.
I appreciate the ping.

Gloria Allred is one tough broad...and comes at a high price, no doubt, high profile lawyer. I'm sure she is doing everthing to prepare Amber for this. Amber has only been before the press 2 times in the past year, has spoken to NO ONE. And can you imagine the money Gloria and Amber could make on book and movie deals if they play it straight, with grace, and get this monster convicted?? Just look at all of the books/movies that came down after the OJ trial....the attorneys, witnesses, jurors, you name it, they all tried to make a buck. But a key player like Amber? She is set for life, she knows it. That combined with the fact she made numerous calls to the Rochas, they seem to be greatful to her for coming foreward and cooperating. I think if she had never came foreward, he may not be awaiting trial right now. What do you think?

Would the paint on the boat be better evidence than a tie-in to the garments she was apparently wearing? Guess that would also be "chemical" and "circumstantial" evidence Cindy was talking about, wouldn't it?
To: Sandylapper
Maybe not better, but a nice addition, don't you think? If he lied about what she was wearing, and if he gave a blow by blow discription of his "fishing trip" and did not mention tieing off, and he may not have, for fear that someone may have spotted him.Maybe he did not have an answer ready for that instance. In the beginning he seemed to be making it up as he went along. He did his homework on some things, but others he was just plain dumb. Like telling the Detective that the power was out at his storage facility...did'nt it now dawn on him that they could verify that claim??
I'm still wondering about Cindy's riddle. I think when it comes up in the pre-lim, we will all go (at the same time), THAT'S WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT!!!!
