I was just out in Yucaipa 2 weeks ago. It is realllly dry up in the hills above Yucaipa. I was up at Pilgrim Pines if you know where that is, about a half mile above all the apple places. Bone dry there.

Used to drive that road through Oak Glen in the spring of the year when all the trees were blooming and then into Cherry Valley -- it is gorgeous up there.

The day the movers moved our household goods back in the 80's, there were fires in the Crafton Hills and right behind Oak Glen. They had to load everything direct in the moving van and could not let the boxes/furniture sit on the sidewalk because of all the ash.

Oak Glen is beautiful -- still have the best pies in the Country up there! Was out in that area not too long ago.

I was driving into Von's parking lot on Yucaipa Blvd and saw another fire break out in the Crafton Hills -- really scarey. We lived on the upper part of Yucaipa about a mile from Oak Glen Road -- used to keep certain items in a closet in case of an evacuation.

When I first heard about the fires first word I heard was Crestline and Big Bear and been glued to news ever since.
