The local news media is wall-to-wall coverage... every housewife and kid in the state is watching the coverage.
If Arnold can't get on, the WH needs to take control of the response.

I know the president has better things to do than counter the air time of a has been governor who just became only the second governor in history to be recalled. Isn't this trying to make everything political what the dems are accused of?

CS: My prayers go up for your family! It's just heart-breaking.
Many people here in Concord, NC praying for y'all on the west coast. We are specifically praying for professional firefighting assistance and equipment, rain, and diminished winds.
Be safe y'all.

Is your sister okay? Has the fire come around where she lives? Do you know anything....has she called you? Prayers going up.

"I have noted that whenever President Bush is home at his ranch in Crawford the media never fails to show him in old levis and an old shirt out working on his ranch clearing out dead brush."Absolutely! Unfortunately, a lot of other people really don't see the point of clearing brush so diligently, because fire is their friend. It's nature's way. What they don't understand is that mother nature has caused the extinction of more species than mankind ever has, but that's because the brainwashing took. IMO, many complacant people are really do not understand why this has happened. Nor will they understand how hard it is to fight fires of such magnitude.

Thanks South40. Her's was old and modest, and she'd been fixing it up for some time. Fortunately, her family is all in that area except Mrs. Slim, and they'll all help.

GRAY DAVIS smiles as he went on bended knee to Mexico for some of its Power during California's Energy Crisis that he caused.
GRAY DAVIS smiles while California now burns.

Clinton's grandstanding in Florida and other disaster zones got him RE-ELECTED.
Bush has to get elected for the first time in our state. He needs to look great and think about 04... it's obvious the Democrats are.

Fox-6 also stressed how Davis ducked when asked about Gen. Myer offer!!! This is criminal.
To: bonesmccoy
Many people, not you necessarily, on the thread yesterday were clamoring for Davis to come and make a speech.

Just finished vomiting. I watched doofus's press converence, in total disgust, I might add. I'll forego the one in Spanish. :))
Arnold really needs to tour the areas and grab the media attention.

AU CONTRAIRE... I have reviewed those numbers and that is precisely why the Democrat politicians are holding press conferences in those areas.
1. They are building rappour with formerly antagonistic voters.
2. They are showing quick response in person.
3. The fires are in conservative areas.

Is your sister okay?No answer at her house but I'm waiting for a return call. She is in a relatively new neighborhood. There's not a lot of brush in her area but the smog and now smoke just hangs in the valley. I imagine it is even worse up there than here in San Diego - and it's pretty bad here.

FITS?
So you think that the absence of POTUS or Arnold from local news coverage is good?
Listening to radio it's pretty clear that people are wondering about the impact of these fires on Arnold's statewide policies.
Someone from the GOP needs to get on TV now.

Question for you. Any chance of a list that is put out somewhere on the internet or police channels stating the property addresses of the destroyed homes?
I'm trying to get info on 11320 Caminito Playa Cancun, San Diego, CA 92124 (Condo association east end of Tierra Santa)
Other property 512 South Glen Oaks Dr., Alpine, CA 91901
Any info would be appreciated. I have emailed my radio guys but they must be out in the field working with Red Cross and such.
Thank you,
Mo4Bush

"NO! You guys don't get it. The Democrats are shoring up support in San Diego, San Bernardino, Ventura, and LA County by playing the sympathy." Excuse me but that is bull. I mean, that may be indeed what Grey & co. are doing but it has little effect on the people here. Listen, I've been in the middle of this thing for over 24 hours now. The last thing people here (San Diego) are worried about is politics. People here want two things - for the fire to be out and, if they've lost their homes, help.
Bush has no reason to come here. This is a disaster like we haven't seen in many years if ever, not a campaigning opportunity.
