[history]
Why have the "conservative" think tanks been so successful, while those on the left have withered? The Democrats have been increasingly concerned by the fact they are losing the war of ideas, and they ought to be.
John Podesta, President Clinton's last chief of staff, is the most recent prominent Democrat to attempt to build a left-of-center think tank, known as the "Center for American Progress."

Absolutely. Democrats don't seem to do critical thinking. They seem incapable of abstract thought. What they do is feel. Facts will knock them down every time.

Not only an indictment against liberal "think" tanks, but an outline of how liberals consistently paint themselves in a corner with their big government single-mindedness.

They have a policy towards think tanks (and talk radio) that's very similar to the way they think government is supposed to work: Throw money at a problem, and it will fix itself. Time and time again, this "solution" fails - they just don't seem to get it.

NPR is the think tank of the American left - Karl Marx is its theorist. Democrats have been conditioned by a steady diet for decades of National Public Radio to froth at the mouth, like Pavlov's dogs, at the word "conservative." International socialism and its hate for the U.S. drip from all NPR programming and pervade our Democratic Party. Most of our Democratic reps, thinking they are doing good, are a party to the weakening of the U.S. The U.S. govt should cease finanical support for NPR. Its loyalty is to totalitarian, repressive, and terrorist regimes, which also hold the U.S. in disdain. Whatever regimes like Castro's do is in their view terrific; whatever the U.S. does they cast as shameful.

The only liberal thinktank I ever saw was when James Carville put his head in a trash can.

I was once sitting on my deck grilling animal flesh and pondering what the basic difference is between conservatives and liberals. My then 3 year old son came up, and I told him to stay away from the grill, because it was hot. He looked me in the eye, spun and his heel, and walked over to the grill and layed his hand on it. He screamed, I got some ice on the burn and took care of him. I went back to the deck (had to protect the animal flesh) and my boy came out. I told him to walk over to the grill and lay his hand on it. He looked shocked and said, "No!".
I thanked God that my son was a conservative.
