I live 42 miles NW of The Loop in a city that was incorporated only two years after Chicago was, and there are no gangs of Middle-Easatern or South Asian Muslims gang-raping adolescent girls here or in Chicago proper.

I am a retired cop so I have some idea of what I'm talking about.

I didn't say that the Muslims aren't dangerous, but I do say that that there are no gangs of marauding Muslim teenagers randomly assaulting girls.

And that's due to the fact that here Muslims aren't gettoized like they are in Europe because they are financially able to move out of the inner city.

I live in a part of Brooklyn that has seen a HUGE influx of Middle Eastern immigrants, mostly Muslims from Lebanon, Egypt and Yemen. While it is true that many are entrepreneurs (Car Services, 99 cent stores, etc.), many of these same entrepreneurs bring their poorer countrymen over to work as slave labor and stuff them in once-middle class apartment buildings, turning said buildings into slums. Young Arab kids in my nabe have adopted ghetto fashions, ghetto talk (wuz up my nigga!) and engage in alot of vandalism and fist/baseball bat fights. Nevertheless, few are running around committing rape (yet!).

Aren't the Arabs largely in Albany Park south of the Korean area? I know that there is also a large Pakistani population on Devon, but they always seemed to be a quiet bunch when I visited.

I can't speak to the subject of where in Chicago the Muslim areas are, but in the city where I live we have mostly Pakistanis and they're widely dispersed, though they have a small mosque.

The managing editor of our local newspaper is a good friend of mine and he says that they can't get the local Muslims to even talk to their reporters either on or off the record about any facet of the war on Terror or the Patriot Act.

There are some Muslims in the south suburbs.
