When was this statement by Dr. Hammesfahr made? Wasn't this already in the record? Or is this something that has just come out? Has this been sent to Greta and others?

If you do a google search on Hammesfahr and Schiavo you will come up with more info, too much to post here. It's hard to find good info in favor of Terri from non-religious or non-agendized sites.
There is a downside to Hammesfahr here Recent Article in St. Petersburg Times
"The Florida Department of Health filed administrative complaints against Dr. William Hammesfahr last year accusing the Clearwater physician of falsely advertising his treatment and exploiting a patient for financial gain."
I haven't read enough about his connection with this case to gain a sense of whether somebody is trying to discredit him or what.

Clarification. By "downside to Hammesfahr" I didn't mean to imply that he is not credible. I wish there were more professionals on Terri's side who are credible.

I found this on the Doctor:
"Dr. William Hammesfahr, a world-renowned expert in cases such as Terri's and a Nobel Prize nominee testified that Terri is not in a PVS. He also testified that he believes he could help her improve her circumstances through proper medical treatment. Ten other physicians have testified or given statements that Terri is not unconscious. Judge Greer instead chose to believe contrary testimony by a doctor who rarely sees Terri and another doctor, who makes an avocation of testifying in cases such as Terri's throughout the country, always on the side of dehydration"
