There are many Americans who only not dying because of a feeding tube. Many of them are functional people. They have jobs, play baseball, and much more. Just because someone cannot eat a ham sandwich doesn't make them worthless. While it may be her husband's legal right to starve her it is not his moral right. I don't expect you to understand that though.

The question is why does your morality (or anyone elses)override his legal rights? Especially if you have a bought and paid for legislature that will do what you want to circumvent the existing law.
I understand it fully, but I don't think it is right that people who are far removed from the personal relationship that a man has with his wife are all suddenly standing around with their undies in a bunch, getting laws changed, and generally acting like a bunch of omnipotent moral busy-bodies when for the last 13 years nobody gave a fat-rats patootie about her.
