Bush Issues Ramadan Statement
VOA News ^ | October 25, 2003

Posted on 10/25/2003 5:21:58 AM PDT by sarcasm

The White House has issued President Bush's annual greeting to Muslims around the world who will observe the holy month of Ramadan.

In his message, President Bush says Islam is a peaceful religion that has helped shape the character of the United States, and has made great contributions to the world.

Mr. Bush said Americans cherish the freedom to worship and, he said, "we remain committed to welcoming individuals of all religions."

During Ramadan, President Bush said Muslims fast, pray, contemplate and renew their commitment to lead lives of honesty, integrity and compassion.

According to the DoD there are an estimated 13,000 Muslims serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.

The Commander in Chief should tell these servicemen and women that they aren't worthy of his respect for their religion?

"I haven't seen any reports in the public eye describing how Pentacostle's have been stepping up to the plate, or how Lutheran's are the bravest soldiers."

Probably because the Muslim apologists are too busy trying to tell us Islam=Peace while the Muslims are doing their best kill off The Pentecostal’s and Lutheran's of the world. Thankfully Most Americans recognize Islam for what it is.

Nice try. Pentacostalists and Lutherans are not trying to murder us in the name of their god. If you think the press, which has been o so solicitous to the Muslims in the "Religion of Peace" campaign, wouldn't be trumpeting their contribution to the war on terror, you are being somewhat naive. They may be gunshy do to the fact everytime they have a poster boy ala Capt Yee, or some of the "respected Imans" who later turn out to have direct ties to terrorism it's blown up in their face.

I thought his job was to run the country.

A common misconecption. His job is only to run the executive branch of the US government.

Before Roosevelt, it wouldn't have occurred to anyone that the president's job is to run the country.

CWO4 Johnny Walker, U.S. Navy, who sold many of our nuclear sub secrets to the Soviest wasn't Muslim...he was a so-called Christian.

McVeigh, who blew up several hundred of his fellow countrymen wasn't Muslim...he was a so-called Christian.

Ridgeway and Yates, the two mass murders currently preparing for separate trials in Washington State for the murder of almost 100 women between then were both church going Christians.

I'm sure the 13,000 Muslim's in the military uniform for this country appreciate your support.

He could simply thank them for their service, if he has to say anything at all.

BS. He should respect them AND their religious beliefs. As citizens of this nation they are entitled to as much religious freedom as you are. As serving members of the military they are also entitled to the respect they deserve.

He is their President as well.

Absolutley correct. At least, until they can implement Sharia law.

I don't recall them doing these things in the name of Christianity. And if they had, Christians would have been falling all over themselves to disavow the activities.

YOur analogy is deeply flawed.

Currently we are living under the Constitution, which grants them religous freedom for zealots who would persecute them.

Don't waste your time arguing with those who want the President to declare a holy war on Islam.

Apparently the fact that it is the largest religion numerically, and that mamny of our allies in the war are Muslim nations is not to be considered. I am thankful these people are not in charge of foreign policy.

These are the same kind of people who would don white hoods and burn crosses outside of people's homes at night. They aren't worth the dust on a single Muslim soldier's boots.

And how may of these 13000 can be trusted? In a word, Zero. Amazing how the apologists want everyone to think Muslims are Pro-American. Why don't you dig up some stories of Muslims in the Military who supported us so well. Because I can sure dig up a lot of stories to the contrary. Islam is an anti-Western/American cult whose members should not be trusted, Period!

Fortunately their military commanders think differently. Amazing how people came to this country and forged a nation to escape zealots only to have their ugly head rear up a couple of hundred years later.

It's the power of suggestion. It can't hurt to emphasize the P in PBUH over and over.

Speak softly and carry a big stick. It's as old as the hills.

LoL, nothing like having an Ally that would kill you as soon as the threat of force was removed. There are no True Muslim Allies, unless of course you are talking about the Muslim countries that are controlled by their own military so Islam does not take hold.

Take care Dear Lady, I'm off this thread with it's twisted people.

The troops have to endure enough, then this kind of sick evil crawls out from somewhere.

You can't trust them because they're Muslim? It wasn't that many years ago some would have said you can't trust them because they're black.
