Diplomat's `outrage' finds political outlet (Wilson)

Now here's a real political shocker for you. Joseph Wilson, the former diplomat who threw a hissy-fit when his CIA-employed wife was outed in a Robert Novak column, has officially endorsed Sen. John Kerry for president.

Oh, stop the presses!

Wilson was beamed into New Hampshire via a conference call Thursday to make the endorsement official. He'll put in a personal appearance there next month. It had already been revealed that Wilson and his wife, Valerie Plame, had contributed to the Kerry campaign.

Wilson also acknowledged that he has been advising Kerry on foreign policy for about five months. Yes, that would put it before Wilson started criticizing President Bush for the line in his State of the Union message about Iraq seeking uranium from Niger for use in Saddam Hussein's nuclear program. (Wilson was the one sent to Niger by the CIA to investigate the charge, but insists he found no evidence of same.)

And, of course, it was before he so very bravely came to the defense of his wife and rashly accused Bush adviser Karl Rove of being the source of the leak. Wilson later retracted the charge, but now that he's an official member of the Kerry team he's not so sure. So he used the occasion of his endorsement of Kerry to impugn the integrity of both Rove and Attorney General John Ashcroft, whose Justice Department is probing the leak of Plame's name.

``The reports that somehow the attorney general, who is very, very close to Mr. Rove, both personally and professionally, is getting daily updates on the status of the investigation strikes me as the potential for at a minimum the appearance of a conflict of interest,'' he said.

Whoever leaked Plame's name should be ousted on the grounds of sheer stupidity alone.

But clearly Wilson has his agenda, has had it for quite some time and all of his righteous indignation ought to be considered accordingly.

It would appear that Wilson's wife (seeking money by getting her hubbie some spare change by a foreign trip?) was the one who got HIM the trip as a sub-contract to the CIA.

This silly stuff was manufactured by Wilson to drum up bids for a book he wants to write. If anyone outted the "sainted" Valerie Plume it was she, her husband and other insiders on the Washington cocktail circuit. In addition to Wilson having listed for some time his wife's maiden name in his offical bio, she made a campaign contribution to Kerry under that name and used the CIA cover business as her place of employment. They outted her then blamed President Bush.

This is not news, it just took awhile to filter through to the mainstream press. Wilson was brought into the Kerry campaign by Chris Lehane, who met with Wilson at least five times before he left the Kerry campaign to move to General Clark's campaign. The hyped lies and exaggerations are part of Lehane's signature collection of campaign dirty tricks. We should all remember that Lehane was responsible for the Bush DUI news in late October of 2000, and always be ready for him to pull more lies and personal attacks out of his bag. In this case, according the WSJ, Wilson's wife had not been undercover for the past four years.

There are lots of wrinkled old men and women in the press who long since forgave Teddy Kennedy his Kopeckne and more recently, Bill Clinton his Broderick and others, just because their paid vacations on and near Martha's Vineyard were so precious to them, as were the seminars at Harvard and the Kennedy school, presided over by some pompous left wing feel good guru. The media in America grew soft, just like the rest of America did, after WWII. The media demanded and got worship equal to any diety in past centuries. The New Deal was their coming out party, and they ignored and still do, the raw deals and bad deals imposed on us by the liberals.

Thank God, and not Democrats, there have been just enough level headed citizens to correct course from time to time. That has caused the power mongers to resort to trickery and lies, while they have accused the current administration of what? Lies, lying, dishonesty, etc. Just look at the book titles spawned by the left.
