Diver Dave is a veteran Navy Diver who rides herd on two beautiful little grandsons, and on us. He has been known to stop WVNan and me from late night 'innocent' fun by appearing suddenly "between us" and telling us to STOP THAT!! while being attired in a striped referee's uniform and visgorously blowing his whistle upon us..:))
Dave, I wish you could see how hard I was laughing at your Grammas's true story!!
I had begun a 'series' reply to jw's post of yesterday, but paused to get some diet Dr. Pepper, and went out on the porch and decided to sweep a few leaves off the porch and patio.
That turned into a major work in the yard effort, and when I came back in to expand the reply, it froze and vanished from the screen..|:>(
Opening another window to start it over, I found Dave's story, have regained balance and now am ready to recreate that one to jw.
Thanks, Dave, for making the sun reappear just when I needed it..:))
(wish Calpernia were here to post the song, We Are Family...)
My secret fantasy was, were the latter to be granted me, to travel back to the Holy Land around 30 A.D., to meet Jesus and to know for certain if the movies and stories about Him were truth...or wishful thinking. I remember my thought was that, if untrue, it didn't make much difference, but, if true, it made all the difference in the world and everything changes.
I never got to live any of those dreams except the one about the Messiah, only I found that time travel wasn't really neccessary to come to the answer I sought.
One late night long ago, on a hill overlooking the sea, under the stars and washed in tears, I met Him on the road of Life, and knew Him to be true, the stories real.
I was wrong, though, about everything changing...it was just me that changed...and I knew the world is what it always was...sacred and holy and made by a Loving Hand, watched over by Loving Eyes, cried over by a Loving Heart.
(Oh, yeah...almost forgot...way back when...I wanted a genie like Jeanie...))))
So, not flying to the Moon and through the clouds, swinging through the jungle and throwing a touchdown pass...I can handle that. He made me as I am.
Walking to Jerusalem by His side, now that beats 'em all...)"
Your expressions always are a joy to us, jw, and in this we know why. Your having tapped into His Love enabled you to share that feeling with us in all that you say and do among us....using words and pictures to show us the Views He shows you in your walk, screened through loving eyes and thoughts and hands.
By that we are inspired to share The View and summon our own, and are prompted to share those, too.
Like you, Sistah Nan and I have been through similar encounters on long ago roads...and reminded often along the journeys of His Plans and Ever Presence.
We here humbly thank you for the wonderful ways you touch us all and inspire us to thank and praise and worship Him in earnest.
My own walk began on a sandy road at age 9 1/2, and He took me all over the North American continent to behold His Marvelous Creations!!
Can hardly wait to get to see it from the Highest Possible Place!
To Him, we give all honor and praise and glory - - - Amen!
Sorry it took me so long to recreate the reply to jw...are you still here?

Alrighty ! Playing catchup. Hope it's not too late for a ...
Yes, I responded to jw's comments last night. The encounter with the Risen Lord is a life-shaping event for those who recognize Him. My first vision was at the age of 7. Then came the war and, as you say, everything else was pushed out of our lives. By the time it was over I had forgotten that long ago call. It was many years before I encountered my Lord again and it was on a painful road that we met, and my life has never been the same.
If we are to ever find peace and joy in this life, we must accept that it is only through Him that we can find it.
Even then, we too often try to do things 'our way,' and have to relearn how to seek and yield to His Plan...
Thankfully, His grace and mercy allow us to go forward again.
Savoring that Wonderful Provision...
Thank you, Nan.
