The law says that the Gov.has 15 days to intercede and stay a court decision to remove a feeding tube IF the person did not leave written instructions AND IF there is a dispute within the family about removal of the feeding tube. Julie if that is so, why did it take a week before the feeding recommenced? Don't misunderstand -- I'm thrilled Jeb interceded but fault those who should have looked into this when they first got a heads up.

The feeding tube was removed on 10/15 but Terri's Law wasn't passed until 10/21. As soon as it passed the Governor signed an EO to have it reinserted.
FL State police went to the Hospice to make sure it was reinserted ASAP. Terri was taken to a hospital to begin rehydration. The miracle was that she apparently suffered no damage to her kidneys after 6 days of starvation & dehydration.
