It's actually a moot point. His parents were sick and dieing whereas his wife is a "vegetable" (his words, not mine).
When death is imminent the sick person instinctively stops eating. For those at death's door, this is PERFECTLY NATURAL. For someone who is not sick, like Terri, terminating their source of nourishment is UNNATURAL.
Absolutely correct. When it is time to go to the Lord, people know it. It is an unbelievably sad thing to cope with but it is true nonetheless.
This much is true, and I think it is the reason why the pro-death crowd keeps trying to say that starving is natural and painless. I can't vouch for pain, because I know my dad didn't feel well as he was dying. He did stop eating about a week before he passed away. HOWEVER, my dad was constantly thirsty! Many, many times a day, I can't even remember how frequently he asked, several times in an hour, every couple of hours. When he could no longer drink through a straw he could sip water off special sponges. We constantly had cool, wet washcloths for his head. Terri won't get water even if she is thirsty, when they disconnect her tube.
NY, there it is, no more needs to be said, you have it!
