While I feel the same way, it does get the family exposure and keeps Terri's story and face out there on national t.v. Pat made some very good points, if anything, it will get to the many of people who are just getting interested in Terri's fight for life.

If a lingering death process isn't fully covered by insurance or medicare, whatever, the payment for extended treatment will come out of the person's estate. So if the person stands to gain from an inheritance, it would be difficult to remain completely neutral. Your comment brings up the most important aspect of this case: Why is Michael Schiavo still guardian of Terry? It was understandable in the beginning, but when he started working towards his wife's death, well, it just doesn't make sense why a judge hasn't removed him as guardian, especially when the parents are begging for the job.
Until Michael Schiavo is removed as guardian this case will never end.
And it just doesn't make any sense to have him be the guardian when he stands to benefit from Terry's death, which he, by word and deed, is actively promoting.
There's something very very wrong with the actions of the judge(s) in this case.

Terri looked really good again today. She seems to be getting better care now that the whole world is watching. Excellent.
To: SarahW
Good point.
To: Hildy
But do we agree to where she should move to? I want her back in therapy and getting the care she deserves, not cremated and scattered who knows where. Oh yes, catholics also don't believe in cremation, but MS does, he doesn't want an autopsy have you heard?

TONIGHT:
Greta van Susteren
October 28, 2003
GRETA: Last night, Michael Schiavo broke his silence to make his case for ending his wifes life and made some shocking accusations against Terris family. He said about Terris father, No, because hes always wanted the money. He always wanted money out of this. He even testified in the first trial he was angry that he didnt get any money.
Joining us to respond is Terris brother Bobby Schindler. Hes joined by the Schindler family attorney, Pat Anderson. Bobby, your brother-in-law says its about money. Basically, your father wants the money, thats why he doesnt want the feeding tube removed from your sister. Whats your response?
BOBBY SCHINDLER: Well, its totally false, Greta. Interestingly enough, back in 1992 Michael was suing a doctor in a malpractice trial, and he was asking up to 20 million dollars to take care of Terri for the rest of his life and the rest of her life. Shortly after the malpractice money came in, in January of 1993, it was just six months later when Michael attempted to withhold antibiotics. Terri would have died from an infection she had from a urinary tract infection. She would have died, and Michael would have inherited close to a million dollars at that time. So, this notion or this accusation that my parents were in it for money is just absolutely false and just wrong.
PAT ANDERSON: Greta, the parents want to keep Terri alive. They want to keep Terri alive. Its obvious theyre not fighting to kill her. Theyre fighting to keep her alive and get her better. It has nothing to do with money for them.
GRETA: So, whats with this money
Pat, is there
.I mean, I dont even know where the money is. I mean, I know there was a malpractice lawsuit, a successful one, but a lot of money has gone into paying for this poor womans medical care. Is there any money to be fighting over?
ANDERSON: Oh, no, no, no, no. No, the money has not gone for that purpose. The moneys gone into lawyers pockets. George Felos has received $357,000 of Terris money. Debbie Bushnell has received about another $90,000. All told, way more than half of the money that that jury awarded for Terris care has been spent on attorneys fees and costs.
GRETA: But is there any left to fight about? How about that? Pat, thats really my question.
ANDERSON: No. No.
GRETA: All right. Bobby, how would you describe your sisters marriage up until the day that she went into the hospital? What was her marriage like with her husband?
SCHINDLER: Well, it was deteriorating, Greta. I mean, Terri and I had conversations prior to her collapsing that evening when she was coming to me seeking a divorce from Michael. At the time I was only in my early 20s, and other than just listening to her, I really didnt have much to offer as far as how to go about getting a divorce. She was extremely unhappy.
GRETA: Pat, what Michael said last night is that Terri was bulimic, and that when you constantly throw up you lose a lot of potassium, and the suggestion was that what put her into cardiac arrest was a very low potassium. True or false, and whether or not she was bulimic and this may have created a potassium deficiency?
ANDERSON: Well, the doctors Ive consulted, and maybe Dr. Biden can shed some light on this, is that her potassium was below normal, but her blood glucose was quite elevated, so there is some speculation in the doctors Ive consulted is that the paramedics were running a glucose solution on her before she got to the hospital, which altered her blood chemistry to that extent. The bulimia is just a theory.
GRETA: All right, and well still keep digging into that. Bobby, do you ever talk to your brother-in-law? You ever have any conversations with him in the last six months or so?
SCHINDLER: No, not in the last six months. The last time I had contact with Michael is just prior to the original trial in January of 2000, and I asked him if hed like to talk about the upcoming trial, and at the time he told me that any conversations that we would have would be through his attorney.
GRETA: And your parents, have they
I mean, has it ever been any sort of effort for all of you to sit in the room? I mean, obviously this would become a very public and disturbing problem. Any chance that even all of you sit down and somehow work this out in Terris best interests? Bobby?
SCHINDLER: I would love
that would be wonderful if we could do something to work this out and we can get guardianship back of Terri. All we want to do is take her home and take care of her. We just want Michael to take care of his family, and we want to take care of Terri.
ANDERSON: You know, he has an infant daughter, and he needs to concentrate on it.
GRETA: All right, Pat, Bobby. Thank you both very much.

I don't consider a woman who's been with the same man for 7 years "promiscuous." But we're not going to agree because we don't agree on the basic principle of the whole thing.

Well, now Terri's fighting for air time with major fires on the West Coast. Where will the next shoe drop? The Schindlers are doing a solid job and their attorney is as well. Per Atty Anderson, 500K people on the internet are praying for and supporting Terri. That's only what they can confirm from terrisfight.org.

Until Michael Schiavo is removed as guardian this case will never end. LKL did ask him if he would give up guardianship of Terri and he said he would absolutely not, as it meant giving her back to Mr. Schindler and we all know what pack of lies he started spewing about "her limbs being cut off..."

I was on hold for Glenn Beck this morning when Glenn was interviewing Pat, but time ran out and I didn't get on. I was going to mention Free Republic and all our awesome threads...also was going to tell GB that Steven Schiavo is going to be on the Michael Smerconish show tomorrow morning, his show is on 1210 am in Philadelphia, don't know who else carries Mike's show, but it should be a good one. GB's engineer already knew about the brother coming on to do an interview.

FWIW, some bulimics don't rely strictly on barfing to purge, or don't stick a finger down the throat at all - their favorite means of purging after an episode of gorging, is to abuse laxatives and diuretics, That is true
It would be nice if MS would release all of her medical records so that many of these question could be answered

IF she had an "arrest" the question then becomes "what caused the arrest" and yes potassium can do that but most likely it was the TRAUMA TO HER HEAD!!! She did not have a cardiac arrest. If a cardiac arrest were responsible for the deprivation of oxygen to her brain, then her heart also would have suffered significant damage. Since it has been proven that she didn't even suffer a heart attack, she definitely didn't have a cardiac arrest.
The question then becomes what caused her oxygen deprivation to her brain?
The only logical answer that has ANY evidence to back it up is strangulation. I have very little doubt that Michael Schiavo strangled Terri that night.

So you're starting a Terri Daily Dose Update Thread? That will help sort out research and rants from breaking news and Terri's condition which per today, "She's looking good."

I am not a cat person, but if they were my wife's cats and she was in that condition, I'd want to keep them just because they were hers.
To: EternalVigilance
I find it difficult to believe her initial condition was created by a heart attack and there has been no tendency for one since then. A heart attack als leave certain distortions in the QRST axes in heartbeats which are quite measurable. Don't ask me to explain it. The best description I know of is in Guytone's Textbook of Medical Physiology.

"She's looking good."
Terri has a will to live.....no doubt about that!
After 6 days of starving her, she bounces right back.
You go Girl!
To: Auntie Mame
He stands to benefit.
This is a major factor in the dispute, and he has tried to remove it by saying the money's gone, there's no insurance, etc. But even assuming that is true (which we don't), Michael Schiavo would face a serious financial burden if Terri survives. I think that is part of his motivation.
To: First_Salute
That is a very possible scenario you just described.
Except I don't think it was an "accident"; I think Michael knew exactly what he was doing. He is too evil for this to have been an accident.
