Clark: Terrorism in Iraq has grown since we arrived
Hardball - MSNBC

Posted on 10/24/2003 4:11:01 PM PDT by Qwinn

Just saw this on the bottom of the screen during a Hardball debate between Matthews and Clark.

This must be the single most moronic statement I have ever heard. Has -anyone- ever suggested that Saddam was BEING attacked by terrorists?!

True, so do you think he wants to piss of the few conservatives who watch? Reagan is the third rail. He knows better than to be on the wrong side of that issue.

I don't get Fox news :( From what I've heard, they sound pretty similar, but Colmes gives his unadulterated loyalty to the Democrat party. Matthews doesn't. He basically calls himself an Independent. And there are times when he will rip the Democrat party apart. He -destroyed- Terry McAuliffe the night of the California recall, when McAuliffe tried to spin it as "a referendum against incumbents - Bush better be scared next year" and he -ripped- Jesse Jackson on the whole disenfranchised voters bit.

I don't think Matthews is just about ratings. I think he's a Kennedy Democrat. Which, while not great, and which 10 years ago I would've told you I despised, is a hell of a lot better breed than what the rest of the party has morphed into today.

BTW, I don't think most of his viewing base can be categorized as "moderate to conservative". I believe he's got a pretty consistent base across the spectrum.

I -used- to think Keith Olbermann was decent. Man, has he proved me wrong. He's right in the sewer, and -he- is the one that cares about nothing but ratings.

Wasn't Clark already a 3 Star Gen. when Clinton came to office?

"I don't get the fascination with Clark. He looks like a headwaiter."

Clark is the Dem's dream come true...clearly a hot item in their drive for power-next-time.

Clark is a general, no matter that he was a partisan and political being even then.
Clark has the caveat not only having served but having served in a successful and 'righteous' war to liberate the Balkans.
Gag!

He's their silver bullet and a large number of leftist dems will settle into a total comfort zone just knowing that they are free thinking enough to vote for ANYONE who went beyond Captain in the military.
(Glenn was an astronaut, McClown was a POW, they are outside the general military population.)

it seems that while those here have only party talking points to offer. Those politicians, democrats and republicans, who actually go to iraq have complements to the results and the soldiers who are there. Frequent complements include saying how fast the infrastructure has been brought back, how targeted the bombing was, how professional the troops perform. . .

Matthews seems to me to be siding -against- dropping the embargo on Cuba (tho he's asking fair questions both way).

If he supports the embargo, I'll be glad I defended him. There's Republicans who do far less. He at least recognizes Castro for what he is.

I think he was a BG. When Shalikashvilli was leapfrogged into JCS, he brought Clark with him.

Well since saddam supported terrorism and used terrorism on his own people with the gassing of thousands of Kurds, why would it surprise the general that we are being attacked after bringing down the saddam regime? This guy wants to be prez...ROFLMAO!!

John Glenn was a fine Marine aviator corrupted by ambition. John McCain was a poor Naval aviator corrupted by incompetence.

My daughter had to read "Hardball" for a HS Government class - she hated it! I picked it up after she was done and found it to be a pretty good read...

Yeah, but his national numbers have him way higher. Either that, or Hillary has better clout with pulling the strings of the national pollsters ;)

BTW, just for the record - Zogby is trash.

I think his support basically comes from all those dimwits who thought Clinton was a "hunk."
