Father: Brain-damaged daughter responsive

PINELLAS PARK, Florida (CNN) --The father who has fought for more than five years to keep his brain-damaged daughter alive said when he visited her Thursday, she turned down his kisses, saying, "Uh-uh."

"I was in front of her and I'm kissing her on the cheek, and she doesn't like that," said a smiling Bob Schindler after visiting his 39-year-old daughter Terri Schiavo.

This may be a little OT but it is an example of where we are heading.

Heading??? We're there!! We've known these 'shortcut measures' were being taken but, without any laws to protect the innocent, patients who wanted to die were given a little extra morphine ;->

Mark my words. Felos is seeing visions of grandeur now and will use both Michael and Terri to rake in his windfall. This case will be argued before SCOTUS. It will be a watershed moment in US history - the 'roe v wade' for the "pro-choice" crowd.

I've been debating this with a few people on another forum. Does anyone know the names of the doctors who have testified that Terri is not PVS? And is their testimony available? (or some quotes) The people I'm talking to don't believe what I've been saying, they want more evidence.

You're right, of course. And you reminded me of another incident.

Knew someone went on dialysis. Pretty traumatic thing and he was kind of depressed wondering if he should continue.

This guy's only in his 40's and in fine shape execpt for esrd.

So he voices his feelings to the social worker at the center and does she give him any encouragement. No. she tells it's easy to go off dialysis, painless, no problem at all.

So instead of comforting this person's temporary anxiety she suggests how easy it is to snuff himself.

Fortunately, her remarks so angered him that his anxiety disappeared and he's doing fine.

Thanks. I looked but I haven't found it yet. I also need that transcript of what Michael said before, about wanting to care for his wife (during the trial?)..... to show that he changed his tune once he got the money and hired Felos.

This may not be complete or 100% accurate but last Monday, I believe, when this was really heating up, I read an article online that mentioned a neurologist, a Dr.Green, I think, from Jacksonville, FL as having examined Terri(at her parents' request) and determined that she was not, at time of examination, in a PVS. (Sorry for the VERY long run-on sentence.)

I just "googled": Dr.Green + neurologist + Terri Schiavo and the first response was the article I refer to above. A very good read! Check it out!

The article you sight is one I am not familiar with. The one I mentioned is relevant because it is a neurologist who personally examined Terri and determined that she is NOT in a permanent vegetative state.

It's probably a fake entry - I went to the school that Timothy McVeigh went to in Pendleton NY - there is an entry for class of 85 AND 84 for him. I was '85 and moved from there when I was 12 - I can't say I remembered who he was or not. Point here, it's probably not her.
