I think WalMart was targeted because they ARE so large, and it was guaranteed to be high-profile, national news. It should give plenty of pause to smaller companies who are tempted to hire illegals.

I agree with other posters that targeting the CEO's and HR managers of companies that hire illegals, complete with mandatory jail time (NOT paltry fines), is the only way to stop this problem.

It sounds to me like the government needs a little cash.

The governmesnt has sued Microsoft, Tyson Foods and now Walmart. What is a hundred million dollars to these multi-billion dollar corporations? Certainly, the illegals will stay, be provided work permits, food stamps, housing and health care just to be witnesses.
