Definition of a bioethicist: One who earns his living rationalizing the murder of the weak, the hurt, the helpless, the old and the infirm.

A bioethicist has as much relation to ethics as Carl Richter(*) does to art.

(*)Richter's "Gray" hangs in the Tate Modern in London. It is a canvas about 3'x5', which is painted solidly and uniformly gray.

And he can't just go off quietly into the night.. he'd then be hounded for alimony to be used to pay for her 24/7 care.

Terri's required level of care is nothing particularly exotic. Probably no more expensive than a typical teenager if parents and siblings volunteer their time.

I think these parents would be content to have that ruled out in the divorce agreement. Or maybe conditioned on whether Terri can be restored to communication sufficient to achieve legal competence (i.e. if she can legally ask to sue the bastard for alimony all bets are off).

Oooh... I like that idea. If they're so sure she's "brain dead" Felos and Michael should have no problem with such a clause, should they?

Do you or anyone else have "any" idea what is really motivating this man? If the money is gone and all he really wants to do is get on with his life we ALL know he could just as well let her parents take care of her.

WHERE has the money gone? Bearing in mind that Terri was "supposed" to die a long time ago, what are the odds that someone did a little misappropriation with the intention that Terri would die, Michael would inherit the trust fund, and nobody would ever have to examine the books. Of course, if Michael did start down such a road, there'd be no turning back.

The courts have ruled in the husband's favor on every occasion for 13 years. The Schindlers have not been able to prove any of their allegations against the husband.

How many courts have made findings of fact in favor of the husband?

Many people mistakenly believe he painted it. The truth is, he scraped it off the battleship Missouri.

Thanks for providing that link. This situation is beyond my comprehension, and the more I read the less I understand. I can only add my prayers to the chorus.
