Robert Byrd, maybe?
According to a rumor going around DC right now, the Washington Post is tomorrow going to reveal an internal Democratic Party e-mail with a crude, racist caricature of California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown. Justice Brown happens to be a black woman, and apparently this e-mail has her with an absurdly large "afro" style haircut (she doesn't have one), and makes a few disparaging racial remarks about her and, for some reason, Dr. Condoleezza Rice. This staff e-mail (I'm assuming a Senator would not send such an e-mail) comes during Senate confirmation hearings for Justice Brown to the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, one of the most prestigious Federal courts and widely seen as a stepping stone for the U.S. Supreme Court. Democratic Senators have put up fierce opposition to Justice Brown, as with other Bush Administration nominees.
I can't vouch for the truth of this, I haven't seen the e-mail. However, in addition to the link provided, I have heard this from someone else I know in town, so I will be waiting to see if the e-mail is in the Washington Post tomorrow.

Like I said, can't vouch for it, but I will be waiting to see if it's true.

The hypocrisy continues. At this rate, the Democratic party will be out of business in 10-15 years.

They should have forwarded it to the Washington Times because the Washington Post will find some excuse to: (a) not print it; and/or (b) blame it on the Republicans.

I've heard the Post, but you're right, the Times would be a much better choice if you wanted it to get play.

This cartoon was shown yesterday on "Special Report with Britt Hume."
It is incredibly tasteless.

I'm curious to see if it will be published. Hmm. Some peon's head will roll, max.

Actually the Post may run it--it is a long way to voting time and their editors may be trying to get an invite to a State dinner or something. I'd love to see Matt the Hat scoop them with a copy of the e-mail...

Unfortunately, it won't mean squat. Democrats are allowed to be racist.
In Florida, The Neil Rogers Radio Show, continually played a parody of Nat King Cole's Song "Mona Lisa" to Condoleezza with such lyrics as:
Condoleezza, Condoleezza, what you be doin'?
That neo-facist black-haired token schwarze dog.
"Is you there 'cause you a high-toned public Negro?
Is you their black-haired answer-mammy who be smart?>br> Does they like how you shine their shoes, Condoleezza?
Or the way you wash and park the whitey's cars.
"Georgie junior says he trusts you, Condoleezza.
Who said our [unintelligible] off the greedy oil woes.
But then he make you clean all the White House bathrooms.
The public sink, the toilet and let's scrub the floors

Neil Rogers is a flaming liberal so he got no flack at all. He was just being funny. This supposed cartoon will get a pass, whatever it is.

I wonder if this is the same cartoon that Hatch had up during the opening of the hearings, that he refused to put away.
To: So Cal Rocket
Yeah, that one. Hatch had it printed, blown up, and made into a display. Used it throughout the initial hearing to keep the Dems on the defensive.

What we must stress, in our mentions of the cartoon to liberals and moderates, is this:
"What do you suppose the reaction would have been if a CONSERVATIVE publication had run such a caricature of a LIBERAL black female nominee, being applauded by three LIBERAL blacks whom the publication dislikes?"
That publication would have been "John Rocker'd" overnight. Yet when the political tables are turned, it's just mildly pooh-poohed.

NEVER HAPPEN!!! The WP would vigorously surpress such a message and would NEVER publish it!
NEVER, NEVER underestimate the sleazy scumbaggery of the dems and their extreme left-wing running dogs in the media! This is the old diversionary overstated leak.
Remember when Willie had to testify on tape about his lying? To divert attention and soften the impact, the weasels and scumbags leaked that Willie had lost his temper. The media lackies picked up the drumbeat. When the tape came out, it proved that Willie had lied (as if there were any doubt!) but he didn't lose his temper. And, that became the story, not the lie but the failed expectation that the other liars had planted.
I don't doubt that some racist dem has sent this message (the dems have ALWAYS hated blacks and Catholics) but, when it does come out, there will be so much variance between the rumor and the message that the variance, not the racist message, will get all the media attention. Especially from the neocommunist WP.
