DREAM ACT PASSES SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE

------------------------------------------- DREAM ACT PASSES SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE -------------------------------------------

This afternoon the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 16-3 to pass S. 1545, Senator Hatch's DREAM Act to grant in-state college tuition rates and amnesty to illegal aliens under the age of 21 who have been physically present in the country for five years and are in 7th grade or above.

The only three Senators on the committee who voted AGAINST the DREAM Act and represented the majority of Americans who oppose amnesty and other rewards for illegal aliens were:

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)

Only one amendment was passed by the Judiciary Committee. All other amendments were overwhelmingly defeated. The amendment that did pass would make the DREAM Act marginally less disgusting, but it won't significantly decrease the number of illegal aliens who will be eligible for the amnesty.

--------------------- PHONE CALLS AND FAXES ----------------------

1. Our best hope of defeating this amnesty now rests with the Senate Leadership. We are asking you to call members of the Senate Leadership (phone numbers below) and ask them to oppose the DREAM Act.

Your message can be as simple as "Please do not bring S. 1545 to the floor for a vote, and please do NOT allow it to be attached to any appropriations bill, including the Omnibus."

The Senate is tentatively scheduled to go on recess on November 7th so any vote on the DREAM Act will likely occur within the next two weeks.

Please keep the heat on these Senators and let them know how much you oppose the DREAM Act.

2. Please take a minute to make a phone call and thank our three champions, Sen. Sessions, Sen. Chambliss, and Sen. Graham. They resisted enormous pressure to cave to this amnesty. Their phone numbers are listed below.

3. As well, we encourage you to voice your discontent with those Senators who voted to put illegal aliens ahead of legal immigrants and citizens.

4. Those of you who have a Senator on the Judiciary Committee will by tomorrow find faxes to send to your Senator based on their vote today.

If they ask where I am from, I tell them, but also let them know that what their Senator is doing will affect the whole country.

Every one I called this morning, I asked the one answering the phone, to please ask to have a study done on the impact on our water supply, now and in the future. I did call Tom Trancredo's office and told her to thank him for all the work he does, trying to bring some sanity back to this country. I gave her Fairs email address, and asked her to have him print the states out and pass them out to.
Nothing short of a third party, that will have the guts to tackle this, and enforce our immigration laws.

Sickening, truly sickening. Time to kick out the incumbents, Republican and Democrat. They don't give a flip about their constituents - they're too busy representing foreign citizens and governments to obtain under-the-table kickbacks...er, "campaign contributions".

Hey! But console yourself with the fact that we got 300 illegal West European janitors busted in a real kick-ass major sting across the nation's Wal-Mart stores that accounted for .0024% of their workforce and 0% of the illegal problem! We are really making progress with this illegal immigration stuff! With this major bust, now we'll save money on deportation costs - we'll only have to pay for their house down payments and college education! WHOOPEEEE!

Did any of you see Lou Dobbs today?

The light bulb finally goes on
Illegals are counted in the census, redisticting is based on these figure, illegals are also counted, altho they do not vote, yeah right, and as the population grows, illegal and legal, based on the amount of people, they gain another representatives and maybe senator. That is one reason California has so many representatives.
Lou asked this reporter, if there was any thing that could be done, and she enforce our immigration laws, or a change the law, both hard to do. Lou is not a happy camper.

I read, and should have saved it, that in Phoenix the good citizens are being asked to place an extra tax on themselves for the purpose of providing medical care for illegals. I am on Medicare and pay $300 for a supplement mainly to help pay for drugs and illegals can walk right in and set right down get what I have to pay for.....no way Jose.

On the up side maybe Toomey can use this as an issue against Specter. I don't think too many people in PA, especially the ones who couldn't get into Penn State main campus, will be too thrilled about this.

If Toomey is smart he'll vote against any similar house measure and pound Specter with this.

Prop 414. It adds (IIRC) $200 to the tax bill on a $200,000 home.

The propaganda runs something like, "Arizona is going to lose its premiere burn unit if we can't keep the Maricopa County Hospital open!"

Of course, it's the over-use of the MCH as a clinic by illegals who don't pay that is going to force it to close.

The same tactic was used by the trauma centers in Tucson. One of them has closed. We now have 1 trauma center in Southern Arizona.

I wish I had more suggestions. Just keep getting the word out. I've told coworkers, friends, relatives trying to get them involved. And like you, the faxes etc. etc. It is frustrating sometimes, but I don't see any other choice but to keep on doing what we're doing.

Oh one other thing. Donate as much as you can to USIRP. USIRP (US Immigration Reform Pac) only gives money to those running for office who pledge to enforce our immigration laws. USIRP

Last election cycle I believe they funded candidates to the tune of around $100,000. The more they get, the more they can help.

I was born and raised in Tucson and hate to see the Old Pubelo go down like it has. From what I have read Tucson and Phoenix have some of the highest auto theft rates in the nation, why..the border is just a short trip away. This invasion is getting out of hand and I don't appreciate having to pay for it. How stupid can we be that we pay people to come into our country and use all of the services and compasion that can be mustered.

Appears it is up to the leadership (those listed) whether it goes up for a vote or gets attached to an appropriations bill. That's why it's important to contact them and encourage them not to move it forward.
