Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas and affiliated groups organize to Promote America, Demote the UN on United Nations Day
October 22, 2003
Austin, TX -- Several pro-liberty and pro-American sovereignty groups are planning a public protest speech event of the UN on United Nations Day. This Friday, October 24th, at the Texas State Capital, these groups plan to mock the United Nations Flag to underscore the miserable failure of the UN in its self-proclaimed mission.
Founded fifty-eight years ago "to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations and promote social progress, better living standards and human rights", according to it's own web site, the United Nations has proven to be a miserable failure.
Don Zimmerman, Executive Director of the Republican Liberty Caucus, cites the UN for its failure in the Korean War. "The Korean War was the first serious test of the UN's claim to be an effective organization for 'promoting peace and security'. Under UN auspices, a Korean war was waged that cost over 34,000 American lives, and over 500,000 Korean and Chinese lives. One $trillion American taxpayer dollars and fifty years of foreign military presence later, the Korean peninsula awakens to a nuclear nightmare from the impoverished North. How is it that the UN still expects us to celebrate their failed global imperialism - in virtually every part of the world?"
Various grassroots leaders have proposed other uses for the worthless UN's flag. Some suggestions proposed for the protest:
beach towels
head-piece burqas and bandannas
door mats
animal bedding
and OTHER
The group will read a proclamation prior to the flag ceremonies.

A bunch of morons are trying to make a political statement. Good thing nobody with a brain and the power to make a decision is paying attention to your small minded activities.
