Kabul, Afghanistan

Soldiers from many nations taking part in the International Security Assistance Force, (ISAF) stand by and salute as the remains of two Canadian soldiers are transported onto a Luftwaffe C-160 Transall at Kabul international airport. A ceremony was held earlier in honour of the two soldiers (Sgt Robert Short, 3 RCR and Cpl Robbie Beerenfenger, 1 RCR), at Camp Julien. At the time of their death they were travelling in an Iltis vehicle on a regular patrol as part of Operation ATHENA. Operation ATHENA is Canada's contribution to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), to support the United Nations-authorized mission in Kabul, Afghanistan, for a period of 12 months starting in August 2003.

The Soviets were on our side in World War II against the Germans, but neutral with the Japanese. The Canadians are on our side in Afghanistan.

Only if they had been trading with Ukranians. The rank is that of *Hetman,* the Ukranya version of the old Polish Royalist rank approximately between Major and LTC.

It's been done. But there's room enough for more to play, so I'm told.

Also, the lives of those foreign troops are on the line, as well. Does that matter to you?

No, not a bit.

Nor do I believe that the lives of OUR sons & daughters matter one bit to the receipients of our "good will".

I guess you and them share the same mindset. Maybe that's good....and maybe not.

Is it my eyesight or there actually is no entry for Mexico contributing even one soldier?

Oh, I forgot, they don't have any able bodied men left, they're all here in the USA.
