A FReeper friend of mine (Yankees fan) called me this morning to gloat about last night's game.

"The hook is in the mouth"--he said.

I was involved in a work-related meeting and did not have time to respond, but I would have told him that anyone who goes fishing for Marlin knows that getting the hook in their mouth only signals the start of the fight.

I don't mind getting beat, but having Weaver pitch in ANY game is unfair to the team AND the fans.

Yeah I know, but I've seen them do it time and time again. Those three guys, Petit, and Rivera are the heart and soul of the team.

They carry it until one of the armpits gets lucky and does something good.

I know... I wanted the Marlins to win, but didn't want Clemens to have a loss to his name, so the outcome was perfect from this fan's standpoint.
