How much of this is true I do not know but it is worthy of consideration.

Scientists confirm that citizens of the Balkans are excreting uranium in their urine. I wonder if there is any Dihydrogen Monoxide in there too?

It's almost all lies-- my brother spent 10 years as an M1 tank crew member surrounded by DU armor with no ill effects.
The worst effect from vaporized DU would be heavy metal poisoning like lead or mercury (and the effects of that would be noticable almost immediately). Almost all of the evironmental damage in Iraq was caused by Saddam running the countries industries (including all petrochemical and insecticide and chem warfare plants) with no pollution control for decades.
If you sit your butt down on the Thorium filled granite of the White Mountains in NH, you're getting more than the allowed daily max of roentgens.

Add that this must be the Left's weekly talking point. Yesterday, I got a haircut. My beautician was telling me about a local Dem political activist who was in that morning, saying exactly the same things as are listed in this rant.
I thought it odd, then, that this old stuff was being resurrected. I thought this was dealt with between 1993 and 1998. Although, come to think of it, we heard it during the Afghanistan campaign.
In another thread, the hair and fingernail loss of the soldiers was theorized as being either a known response to severe stress or perhaps exposure to an excess of selenium.
Heavy metal poisoning is AFAIK easily tested for and I believe chelation is an effective treatment.

The only ones nuking our troops are the leftists that spout enemy propaganda under the false pretence of supporting the troops.

That's why it's called DEpleated Uranium. The way you find the exploded DU bits with a Geiger counter is where the needle reading DROPS, as DU is less radioactive than soil. Duh.

This appears to be another Democraptic mole. A number of them signed up from May - September.

You get more "exposure" skiing at Aspen or Vail or at any High Altitude than you would sleeping with a depleted Uranium pellet.
The Human body is quite adept at expelling heavy metals and other toxins. Toxins come out of your skin and others just pass on thru in Feces or Urine. Granted, exposure is never good, but low levels are easily within the repair ability of our bodies.
One other thing to consider...it's DEPLETED URANIUM! If it wasn't depleted(I.E. very little radioactivity)(in my best Mark Levin voice) IT WOULDN'T BE CALLED DEPLETED! Heh.
DU nonsense belongs on DU :).

209,000 vets have filed claims for disability benefits based on service-connected injuries and illnesses from combat in that war. What you say may be true but there was Gulf War Syndrome and many of the vets claimed it was because of DU.
On the other hand the number quoted for claims seems to be very high and because of its other obvious anti Bush and anti-war message I think, as you do, that the claims should not be taken at face value.

"Bush-Cheney have delivered upon 17 million Iraqis tons of depleted uranium (DU) weapons..."
Of course this does not give the reader any idea what the actual anount of DU delivered might be.

"U.S. citizens at home are also paying a heavy price for criminal militarism gone mad.
DOD is a pollution monster. The General Accounting Office (GAO) found
9,181 dangerous military sites ...""The solution? Americans must stop electing ruthless criminals to rule this nation.
We must convince fellow citizens that villains like Saddam Hussein are made in the U.S.
as rationale for endless corporate war profits. Saddam was placed in power by the CIA.52
For years U.S."
And blah, blah, blah. I think these two quotes reveal the true mindeset of the poster of the article.
Pure LEFTWING, ANTI-AMERCIAN BULL$hit. IOW a DemonRAT from

There is only one reason this and other articles like this are published:
To deprive our forces of one of the most effective warheads in our conventional inventory.
Any other given reason is pure bullshit.

I have Gulf War syndrome...
It has nothing to do with DU "fall-out".
It has alot to do with exposure to chemical weapons, petrochemical contamination and the possible misuse of "antidotes" for various things.
I get more radiation from the tritium on my watch dial than the radiation in a tank load of DU weapons.
The author of this article is an hysterical idiot, and you need to check at least a few facts before you post such diliberatly ignorant liberal tripe.

The worst is yet to come! Within a month or two Dihydrogen Monoxide will be in a solid state, and be responsible for the death of hundreds if not thousands.
