Start with the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Then see which if any countries actually implement any of those human rights. You might find that America is high on the list, and that America's foreign critics are from countries or entire regions that do not adhere to the Declaration's recommendations. Thus America does in fact have a position of moral superiority in the world.

Libya is not doing badly. Khaddafi is getting an Alexander the Great complex, but otherwise he is fairly enlightened. But look at North Korea and Cuba. They claim to be totally in compliance with Human Rights, yet clearly something is amiss.

Cuba and NK are worse examples. I singled out Ghaddafi because his nation heads up the UN Committee.

You remember that garbage dont you? The garbage that died liberating their country. This is to let all you Freepers know that in Canada we have a "heartland" also. Yes there is a large fly-over section. It's just that the mainstream media is largely leftist and ignores or denigrates us.
Canada has been highjacked by the French for a long time. However, there is a tiny light flickering at the end of the dark tunnel, and it is the merging of the Canadian Alliance and the non-red Conservatives.
Here is an example of a right thinking Canadian:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1004520/posts
She writes for the National Post, among other venues, and her name is Elizabeth Nickson.
IMO, she is a female Mark Steyn.
Finally I would like to say this: My late Mom all her life said that the finest sight and sweetest sound was American Soldiers and their tanks coming to liberate her from a German forced labor camp, where she worked from the age of 15 to 19.
Later on when I was born, we happened to end up in the French sector of the displaced persons camp. The French were cooperating with the Soviets' request to hand over all the people in the French sector of soviet origin to them. These were then shipped back to the soviet union and promptly murdered.
My late Dad heard of this and we escaped to the, you guessed it, American sector and safety.
I wouldn't have lived past 18 months otherwise.
So again, thank you American Soldiers.
I consider America to be the most moral country in the history of the planet.
And it's not Cretien, but Cretin; he's the real moron.
My personal ambition is to spend the latter part of my life in America. That's my real home.
Sorry for the rather long post.
G-d Bless America and Her Soldiers.

An epic rant.
Another thing she could have blasted those smug Euros about is the rising tide of anti-semitism and penchant for chilling free speech. For some reason, banning flag burning in the U.S. sets the libs to raging, but you don't hear a peep when supposedly enlightened France makes it illegal to make fun of their flag or anthem.

China is another communist example where they imagine they are doing well with human rights, yet they violate most of the Declaration.

I tend to place CHina as a fascist country, strictly speaking. However, maybe classifying different types of socialistic totalism is an exercise in removing fly-crap from pepper.
