When they are in their own countries.

If you want to carry one in the United States, become a law abiding Citizen.

Criminal invaders need not apply.

So - the God-given Right to keep and bear arms can, in your mind, be restricted.

ALL who come to these shores without filling out the required 'paper work' (in order to become a citizen) or 'swearing allegiance' (taking the oath for citizenship) are not Criminal invaders as you might be want to imply either ...

In practical terms, you would disallow anyone, whether brown, yellow, red, white or black the right to carry until some point in time when they were able to apply and become a US citizen; couldn't that take years in some cases, during which time these people are denied the God-given right to defend themselves from all manner of 'criminal' harm (we'll leave alone for the time being the argument that says the 2nd Amendment is really meant for "the ability 'defend' against an oppressive goverment")?

What if said persons could demonstrate their good character and honest reasons for coming here - could they *then* be allowed to arm themselves for protection?

What are you, a Libertarian or something? I don't have time for clueless quibling. Find someone else to play your silly game.

OK, Jim. I was a bit hasty there. Sorry about that.

I’m not against someone protecting themselves. Yes, there should be a provision for people here legally to acquire a gun. But, it should require background checks and be of a limited nature until they are citizens.
