Mixing type of scent dogs, meaning dogs smelling for scent of deceased persons, dead.... so they are called cadaver dogs? Wow, more thoughts to sort out and ponder for insights! ;o)

Thanks for the clarification.
For the life of me, I've wondered since the first mention of "cadaver dogs" in this case as well as Chandra Levy's, why they use dead dogs to search. Seems a live dog would do a better job. :)

Your warning is now truly a masterwork. Bureaucrats, in particular, will reach climax upon reading it.

And as a reward for your hard work, you MUST see The Deadly Follies of Stick-Figure Warning Man, found on the site above. It's all about that little man we see on all the warning signs. Warning: some harsh language (well, I mean, they have him falling down stairs and stuff, what would you expect?)

It was truly a hallmark of teamwork. Have you ever seen the Terrorist warning sticker?

Vel, I don't know that much about cadaver dogs, human scent dogs, etc., but understand, I think, what Protageros is getting at. Merlin, a bloodhound, is a human scent dog, and could track a live human being or even a dead one if the person they're tracking still has a human scent, not a "cadaver" scent. We don't know if Merlin was cross-trained; i.e., to also track cadavers. We do know Merlin picked up Laci's scent and followed it to the dumpster behind the wine gallery. I haven't heard whether Merlin then went to the warehouse, but have heard (I think) that he made a hit or picked up her scent at the bay. Then, the day after Merlin did his "thingee", Twist was brought in. Twist was taken somewhere before she was taken to the warehouse (it's a secret in Anderson's sealed report). Among other things we don't know is: (a) what the dog handlers will testify to, and (b) if anyone at the warehouse saw Laci on or around December 23rd at the warehouse. Laci's scent could be in the warehouse, but are we talking about a "live" scent, or a "cadaver" scent? Most importantly, we need to know whether Merlin was performing a "tracking" task vs. a "human scent" task to determine if she was alive or dead on the morning of the 24th. We don't know what Lee's testimony will be about his phone conversation with Scott on the morning of the 24th. Pretty sure he didn't speak with Laci directly, but did Lee hear her voice in the background? Think we'll just have to wait and see.

Meant to copy Protageros, but it seems I'm misspelling the name.

Per Gloria Gomez, KOVR-TV, on Court TV w/ Catherine Crier:

Paraphrasing... Prosectution to call 35 witnesses in the prelim.; including Lee Peterson (Did he know SP had a boat and was going fishing on Xmas Eve?), Amber Frey (Some tapes revealing romancing by SP after Laci's disappearance, including requests for weekend trips), lead detective (arrest and car contents), another detective, and Detective Al Brocchini (witnessed SP's odd behavior at the house and whse Xmas Eve... delay in whse search because SP said the power was out... Det. used car headlights and flashlight to search... later learned there was power. LOL). Experts to testify - computer, dog, hair, wire tap, GPS.

Thanks for posting this...it sounds like it's going to be a lengthy prelim. The electricity and the warehouse is interesting - this guy honestly never believed that someone would ever suspect or question him. Most people would know that they would get caught in that kind of lie. How hard is it for the police to confirm that the electricity was off?

I'm beginning to think there's a market for "in-between dogs". Between live human scent and cadaver. Maybe a "livaver dog". $ ChaCHING $

Here poochie, poochie....come to mama!

Also said Det. Brocchini's testimony should take hours. Prosecution to present about 65% of their case.

The detective didn't check the wall switch? ROFL

Thanks Maggie! Great info, especially for one who doesn't get Court TV.

Scott was NOT very good at pretending to be innocent. Lee Peterson is going to be ONE hostile witness.

So Doc, what kind of person honestly never believes that someone would ever question him. Is that a narcissist trait? Borderline personality?

Beats me?!? ... maybe SP pulled the circuit breaker. They caught him in another lie, but did that buy him more time for additional clean up?
