"I am Episcopalian.....we all have individuals in our faith for which we feel a need to apologize" Yeah, same here, and I can tell you that I am not feeling any too comfortable with I have been seeing happening to my church...for as long as it continues to be so, at least officially.

About the church denominations..
You know from what the bible says, that there are no religions in the Kingdom of God or in Heaven. You either belong to Jesus Christ because you've trusted him with your life, or you refuse Him. The true church are those who belong to Him..His body..the bible calls us...
Revelations says "At the judgement seat, many will come to Me saying..'Lord Lord, look what I did for you, I fed the hungry, healed the sick, cast out demons ect..' and the Lord will say "Depart from Me you who work iniquity..for I never KNEW you"
A denomination can fall away from the path...they do all the time...it's individuals that make up the Body of Christ...it's us...the people..who He loves and chose and who come from all walks of life to Him. That's good, isn't it? Sorry about the religious rant..but remember...Jesus was not Catholic, Lutheran or Methodist..ect..He was JEWISH. And so were the writers of the New Testiment. I pray that all denominations will look to and seek God, because God has His people planted everywhere. :)

Me either.
I am sooooo far behind in reading/responding that I'm bumping the thread in playing catch up. There's too much information in too many places!
