Jeb Bush Detractors can leave their apologies here.

Posted on 10/21/2003 2:47:00 PM PDT by Pukin Dog

If the moderators will allow this thread, I would like to hear from those with courage enough to admit their mistakes in attacking Governor Jeb Bush, "suggesting that blood would be on his hands", calling him a murderer and worse with no evidence to back up their assaults.

While today is a great day, I would like to know how many people are willing to stand up and admit their wrongs?

Some may think it unnecessary, but I think a pound of flesh is in order, in a single place were we can all see and read about it. Please remove if this is out of bounds, but in all the congradulatory threads, I dont see too many folks willing to suck it up.

I don't remember getting that extreme in my comments about Jeb Bush, but I did make comments pertaining to his manliness. I was wrong. It turns out he wanted his actions to be appeal proof, which was an extremely smart move. Way smarter than I would have done.

Well keep thinking you know my politics.

You don't

We'll just have to let your own words speak for themself:

" He could have sent troopers in 4 days ago and had her removed. He could have done a number of things, none of them "legal". This was not a legal decision, this was a MORAL Decision and he lacked the moral courage to act.

Like I said, that's all we need to know about your "politics".

Buddy, I've been separated out of the NAV for almost a year, though an F-16 reserves slot is pending if I can heal my broken ankle soon enough to pass a physical. Thats why I have so much time on my hands to kill on the Internet, I'm temporarily grounded. I've got a day-job coming with Delta, depending on the same bum ankle.

Let me ask you a question.

Did you want Terri to live or die.

Look, you want to think that way, fine.

But it will only serve to deepen the distrust that I and many others have towards "social conservatives" at this point. Maybe Dick Morris had a point in his latest article after all...

Live, of course. But that is no excuse for breaking the law.

And, I might add, since the rule of law did truimph, and Terri is being fed, your extremist view is even more outrageous.

Then you are as liberal as you say I am.

Either that or we will just have to agree to disagree that we have 2 different opinions on the way this should have happened.

Laws be damned, the woman was dying and sometimes the law IS wrong and should be broken.

Or, do you think that we should have kowtowed to good old benevolent King George back in 1776 and gone along with all of his laws too?

They were after all LAWS.

Yep. You know how Hillary Rodham Clinton jokes about having converseations with Eleanor Roosevelt?

Well, I cannot help but shake the suspicion that George W. Bush and Jeb Bush have conversations with a chap by the name of Raymond Ames Spruance.

Notice that he never did say how he would feel if a liberal called out the troops to enforce his/her morality.

Uh, hello?!

The LAW was followed, and she is being fed! That is how it is supposed to work, and it did work.

I am neither a hypocrite sir nor a liberal. You do not know me so do not presume to know my politics.

From what you've said, your stated politics swing between authoritarian or anarchistic--if you have power, you will ignore any laws not to your liking and impose your will at government-paid-for gunpoint, but if you are not in power, you will scream "smash the state!" and attack anyone who seeks to enforce a law you dislike.

About the only people who act like that in real life are the Nutball Socialist Wing of the Democratic Party.
