If this guy gets away with starving her to death, then why is Jack Kevorkian still in prison? Somebody removed that feeding tube, she didn't do it herself.

Winston-Salem City Councilman Vernon Robinson will miss tonights committee meetings of the Winston-Salem City Council because he has joined the hundreds who have assembled in Florida to support Bob and Mary Schindler in their fight to keep their daughter, Terri Schiavo, alive
Apparently there are two Robinsons to admire. I wonder if they're related?
Wouldn't have known about this if not for FR...

From what I read in another thread about the changes, what the amendment is is that the moment Bush executes the stay, Terri gets a guardian ad litem! Her husband is no longer in charge?

Let me gets this straight he wants a Fla court to reverse a vote that just took place in the Fla Senate....
I want to see a court try and pull off this stunt.

"It is in the House right this minute"
Seriously?! They're considering it -already-?! Awesome!!!!! That was truly fast! If so, okay, I for one am now reasonably convinced that despite some delays they're not deliberately foot dragging.

The House is discussing the amended bill right now.

"Michael is already in motion protesting the passage" But doesn't Michael become irrelevant if a guardian ad litum is appointed, especially due to the conflicts of interest that are involved in this case?

Right now, he still is. When it passes the House and goes to Bush, he signs it, executes the stay, and then the Chief Justice of the Circuit Court appoints a guardian ad litem.

``This bill so oversteps our role, it not only sets a dangerous precedent, it turns democracy on its head,'' said Rep. Dan Gelber, D-Miami Beach.
Hey, Dan. This is the "give and take of the government."
It's sort of like the US Supreme Court's moratorium on the Death Penalty in 1972.
Would you now argue that the USSC interferred with jury rulings and states' laws in 1972?

Upon the issuance of the stay the court shall appoint a guardian and the guardian shall make recommendations.
Asking about time frames for this to happen.
Anytime after the stay is issued. Scargel says Jeb will be working with the guardian to determine if the stay needs to stay in place.

He may still be able to file (just as Terri's parents could always file), but the fact that he wouldn't be guardian anymore definetly -doesn't- hurt.

It was on a live feed, the FULL senate passed it. I'm just guessing they upped the timetable since she may DIE soon.

I hope if she is stable enough they can whisk her out of that death camp she's holed up in now. My view of hospice and hospice workers is forever changed.

I believe the amendment also removes the expiration of the law 15 days after it is enacted. That could be trouble. Wasn't that put in to help it pass the House?
