Patricia Ireland: Conservatives Made YWCA Fire Me

Everyone seems to agree that conservatives are responsible for the firing of pro-abortion activist Patricia Ireland as head of YWCA of the U.S.A. after only six months. YWCA (which used to stand for Young Women's Christian Association until the "C" word became a no-no) asked for her resignation, the New York Times reported today. She refused because she did not want to give the impression she had "jumped ship."
"I was uncharacteristically speechless," Ireland said. "There had been no notice."
A former head of the Democrat group that calls itself National Organization for Women, she says right-wingers opposed her from the start because of her left-wing activism, because she admitted wanting to inject her politics into YWCA and because she lived with a woman in the 1990s while still married.
Andrea Lafferty, executive director of Traditional Values Coalition, which posted an online petition to have Ireland fired, said her organization was responsible for the ouster.
"Patricia knows why she was terminated," said Audrey Peeples, head of YWCA's national coordinating board.

If the YWCA wants to replace "Christian" with "Conservative", I wouldn't mind.

That would be her next logical step. Unless they already have someone of her persuasion in office who won't leave.

W"hy was she considered in the first place, are they ostriches, or did they think they could slide her through, buch of morons"
...My thought exactly when I first heard that they had hired this "woman" Who at the YWCA had gone completely brain dead?
...I think "she" was the absolute, without a doubt, hands down, worst choice available to them.
...You may safely infer from this that I am happy "she" is gone.

My hope now is that this "woman" didn't get a golden parachute from the Y after being canned.

Not headed, done gone.
My wife was going to be a GS leader, but after finding out what they will tolerate, or even encourage (gay leaders and such) neither she nor my daughter will have anything to do with em. Just one big feminist Girl Power pep rally for all intents and purposes.

That is unfortunate. And that is why I've made a conscience and sad decision not to buy anymore cookies. While I'll occasionally give the girls some cash, I will not take any cookies and I specifically tell them that it is their money and it is not the organizations. The Boy Scouts get all the help I can give.
