Why isn't this story being picked up by the media? I've heard it mentioned by a couple conservative commentators but other than that, it is being ignored. And this isn't some wild-eyed speculation as this fits with everything we've known about Salman Pak for years. This is just one in a series of events that provide a link to Saddam and terrorism...including Al-Qaeda. We've now had verified reports of the presence (and murder/suicide) of Abu Nidal, along with the capture of Abu Abass on the southern outskirts of Baghdad. Abass was the conduit for Saddam's financial aid to the Palestinian terrorists who were also operating a PLF training camp in Iraq. We also busted up Ansar Al-Islam in N. Iraq that was helped being run by Abu-Zarqawi who was a conduit to Al-Qaeda. Zarqawi was also the one treated in a Baghdad hospital were he had a leg amputated. These are just a couple examples of the links there are between Saddam and terrorism and yet the media totally ignores these stories as they even deny a link exists. Interestingly, it was only a few short years ago that it was the media, itself, reporting on these links..and now that they have been verified, it is they who are discounting them.

" Why isn't this story being picked up by the media?"

On the downside it:

A) Comes from an Iraqi paper

B) is based on anonymous testimony

C) was translated by MEMRI. A and C are PC radiocative, B is a legitimate weakness, though I should hope somebody is in Iraq right now trying to verify
