I'll thank the temporal powers only when and if Terri survives.

There are some issues not addressed in this bill. Schiavo is still the guardian. His familiar, Felos, will try to shop this to a friendly judge to have it declared unconstitutional before the ink is dry

If that doesn't work, Schiavo, can decline any medical treatment Terri may need as a result of being without nourishment or hydration for over 144 hours.

A doctor yesterday said Terri "had begun the dying process". That means body functions are beginning to shut down. Heart, lungs, kidneys.

If Terri should need dialysis to remove built up toxins, Schiavo can deny that.

Terri surely has the will to live, having survived several attempts to terminate her.

I pray she has the physical stamina

I also fear Schiavo may have allies among the hospice staff. After all, this place is affiliated with Felos.

It is perfectly within their legal right to increase the morphine dosage. The call is theirs. They can say she needs more for "comfort' and no one can stop them.

In her weakened state this could finish her.

I've had experience with hospices and even a Catholic one told me making the patient comfortable was more important than preserving the life.

Hospices also prefer not to have what they call "live discharges.

Does this passage in the bill mean her parents can have her removed from the hospice to get the medial care needed to resume feeding?

A person may not be held civilly liable and is not subject to regulatory or disciplinary sanctions for taking any action to comply with a stay issued by the Governor pursuant to this act.

A doctor yesterday said Terri "had begun the dying process". That means body functions are beginning to shut down. Heart, lungs, kidneys.

Ouch, I hate hearing this, but am not surprised. All the same her peripheral blood supply will be shunted in a divers reflex to her internal organs. That is probably what they noted in her - some coldness and peripheral shutdown. She probably has 24 hours. Wish I knew her heart rate, which would tell us a lot.

If Terri should need dialysis to remove built up toxins, Schiavo can deny that.

She should be ok on this if they can give her an IV. I have seen kidney function zoom with some fluids in some pretty dehydrated people. In a matter of days....what is essential is how badly her kidneys are being damaged. But the kidneys can take a lot of abuse and come back to enough function easily. In fact people live on one all the time because of this.

Lord this makes me so ill.
