Senates are generally more liberal than Houses. But the Republicans have the majority. I think it should pass.
The key thing here is the psychology of the victory in the lower chamber tonight. Celebrating nation-wide is going on, the (real) family of Terri is uplifted, probably a majority of the Florida Republican voters are pumped, and David has beat Goliath.
There'll be few senators with the guts to go against the tide.....except for the hard-core Demoncrats and the death-cult liberals, of course.

A session devoted to drawing a "non-profit" biotech industry leader like Squibb to Florida? It was the perfect link-up.
Anyone who paid attention to the way Jeb's brother DOUBLED the budget of the NIH knows well that it's critical to land a big spoon for the gravy train.
Only thing designed to draw more porkers would be some scheme to set aside land for federal oversight until such time as Manatees evolve their sea legs.

What happens after the 15 days? Does she get her feeding tube back and then they remove it again in 15 days? I'm not quite understanding.

I have to say something: I've been playing the Devil's Advocate on these threads. But I am genuinely moved, humbled and proud of how you all really worked hard for your convictions and never gave up hope that Terri, someone you didn't even know, would pull through this. Thank you.

...I wouldn't be surprised to learn that some loving Dr. or Nurse has already started the process. I hope so anyway.

Does anyone know if Terri's on a morphine drip?
This delay worries me. I'm concerned that Michael or his minions may dial up the morphine sometime in the middle of the night and, well, they did have that IMMEDIATE cremation order, and what a tragedy that she couldn't have made it through one more night....

Hildy...are you kidding? I'm not being saracstic...do you really mean that?

Be glad people 'got bent'.
It's called political pressure, and what we saw tonight was a bunch of Florida politicians that were reacting to a sound FReeping as much as can be imagined.
Even the leftists were affected by it...that's why they were lying and whining so loudly.

...On reading what I typed it might appear that I am for stopping the process. Please believe that's NOT what I meant. I meant that I hope they have already started the process of feeding her.

Bless your heart, Hildy.

====I think it should pass.
I sure hope so! Thanks for the hopeful note. I think you're spot-on with the "going against the tide" analysis.
I'll understand the die-hards toeing their dreadful line tomorrow ... but remain hopeful also that the focus on this case helps expose their treachery to many who've been woefully ignorant to date of the profess of the Deathists.
Thanks Leni. Your insight's always appreciated.

The way I see it, we have two weeks to get a permanent solution in place. Something like a change of guardianship.

I know it's polically incorrect, but THANK YOU, JESUS. My grandmother said that all the time and made my family uncomfortable. I will never be ashamed to say that. THANK YOU, JESUS, and thank you for TERRI--One of the least of us. And thank you, Grandma, Eva Janie Garrett b. 1897 d. 1971. RIP.
