Askel5's right - a couple people did ask why this wasn't important enough to be included in the special session schedule from the get-go. Good points were made actually.

With ragard to this specific bill, in his opening statement, Rep Stargel did say that the governor's legal team had been working on it all that day.

Of course that begs the question, what were they doing on Sunday? :)

I told my husband last night that I am humbled and awed by what tenacity and squeaky wheels can actually accomplish, and FR had a good sized hand in this. It restores my faith in We the People for sure.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. May God grant you comfort in the midst of your grief.

My blessed mother, who was 83, died in April of pneumonia. She and we her children and the hospital, bless their hearts, fought for weeks to save her. Finally, when her organs started giving out, and she was literally dying, I gave the order to discontinue extraordinary medical treatment. She died about two hours later. That circumstance, though, is completely different than the current attempted murder of Terri. She was not dying until they started starving her to death. Food and water are not extraordinary medical treatment.

I listened to the debate last night. Without a doubt the Republicans were great and most of the Democrats rambled. However, I do not believe anything would have been done if Freepers and others like us hadn't overwhelmed their offices with emails and calls.

It looks like the Senate is dragging it's feet. When the senate finally votes on Terri's bill, it may be too late. But they will be able to tell us, "We tried, but we had to get a good night's rest and then fight about the bill". In the meantime, Terri is getting weaker and weaker.

I'm still disgusted with the Senate's action and the fact that Jeb Bush has not use his bully pulpit to intervene.
I never saw Jeb Bush get on any of the shows to bring Terri's case to the American public. He used his time yesterday to talk about health care, but not a peep about Terri.

Bully pulpit is hogwash when his hands are tied. He is wise to choose his battles and use of it.

The Bush-bashers are doing nothing more than using Terri as an end to their means. You want to see a crime? A diservice to Terri? Use her grave as an opportunity to (ignorantly) bash Jeb. That will be the crime here. I am all for helping her, but I despise the ignorant attacks of the right on the Bush family that has been going on now for 3 years. Those people are doing what the Democrats do. If Jeb was wrong, I could see pointing out his fault. But he isn't wrong, and he is doing what he can.

Oh, and please let us know - factually - that they didn't work at all on the Schiavo case this weekend. Thanks.

Look, I understand how you feel but we must remember that in Florida we have some really BAD demos. Bush is the strongest GOP we have had in years in Florida.

I know, you think he could have done more..... but he has some loosey demo appointed judges in this state and it's really hard to fight them the way the Florida laws are written.

Jeb is the best gov. in FLorida history as far as I am concerned.
