If the Governor could do a stay of execution for a convicted murderer, why couldn't he do a stay of execution to save Terri? Why couldn't he direct the state's lawyers to transfer custody to the parents?

Time is essential here. If they don't act in time, I sure hope these politicians don't say "oops, ran out of time" and expect points for effort.
