You know, I don't think that there's a minute in any of my waking days in which there isn't some song playing in my head.
Maybe it's just me. ;-)

Ear worm...Yeah, it`s called listening to todays radio where they play the same damn 10 songs over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over because the RIAA thinks payola is cool man. You know, the same RIAA that makes kids pay 2000 dollar fines for downloading songs off the internet for free, yet pay radio stations to play those very same songs for so people can tape them for free. Then if your sick of hearing those same 10 songs ten billion times a day, you can go to "classic rock" stations where you can hear "Brown eyed girl" by Van Morrison 10 billion times a day.

Oh Mandy...ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Take this!
YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE (Debbie Boone)
So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You've come along
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song
Rollin' at sea, adrift on the water
Could it be finally I'm turning for home?
Finally, a chance to say hey,
I love You
Never again to be all alone
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song
You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song
It can't be wrong
When it feels so right
'Cause You
You light up my life

Earworm. I never knew there was a name for it. Back in my performing days I would sing about a hundred songs a night in the honky tonks. I always came home with the worst one cycling in my brain, all night long. To stop it, I would listen to Beethoven or Modern Jazz Quartet for a couple of hours. That usually helped.
It's a real curse to have an earworm.

"One day at a time, sweet Jesus...one day at a time..."
"One set of foootprints in the sand....oh, you promised me you'd hold my hand...."
You can kill me now.

I did it that way so that you don't actually have to catch the earworm if you don't try to. Evil song. Bad.

Shania Twain's 'I feel like a woman.'
Compounding the problem is the fact that I'm decidedly NOT one.

In the corner of my mind, stands a jukebox;
It's playin' all my favorite memories.
One by one they take me back
To the days when you were mine.
And I can't stop this jukebox in my mind.
I don't need any quarters, don't need any dimes.
You filled it up forever, when you said "Goodbye".
Heaven knows I love those melodies,
They were meant to ease the pain.
But the ones that's playin' in my head
Are drivin' me insane.
In the corner of my mind, stands a jukebox;
It's playin' all my favorite memories.
One by one they take me back
To the days when you were mine.
And I can't stop this jukebox in my mind.

When my kids were little, this one got stuck in my head. My husband said it would get stuck in his head, and he wouldn't notice he was humming it until a co-worker would mention it.
"I love you. You love me. We're a happy family...."
The ending song on Barney. I still can't stand the song.
